Ok,when you start the game you get an assortment of tools. So can blacksmith do lumbering,stonework and all the other crafting also ? In most games blacksmiths are just blacksmiths. Or are the tools for different schools ?

Blacksmiths work with 3 types of resources. Metal, Stone, and Wood. They make only two types of products from these resources. Weapons and Tools. Because BSmith is such a generalized school your skill gain per level isn't as high as it can be. At level 10 you can decide to specialize in a specific resource field if you so desire to gain higher skill per level. Weaponsmith for metal tools and weapons and Fletcher for wood tools and weapons. Since there are no weapons made of stone and only tools this resource is not supported solely by a specialized school.
