It is more of a question, than anything else. I noticed there is a limit of 10 ferns per plot. Is this going to be a permanent thing or just while it is in testing on blight? I dedicate much of my plot space to greenery, but I would like to understand why I can get an infinite amount of trees and other plants, but not ferns.
This is as intended. All plot decorations have a limit to how many you can place on your plot in order to keep down the server load.
oh bummer. Alright, thank you. Ferns are considered decorations where trees aren't I guess. I'd rather have ferns in place of swamp trees on my plot. They sit better next to the trees as ground cover than the swamp trees do. I'd love it if there were more ground plants and low laying plants like that to use.
Trees not having a limit is actually a bug that we were not aware of.
Great. Since I'm all for reducing lag, and trees are an unknown bug then here is a comprehensive list of unlimited items.
-All Decorative Ponds do not have a limit, (always struck me as odd because they have animations much like the fire pits)
-Boulders
-All Winter Festival decorational items (snowman, presents, etc)
-All Fall Harvest decorational items (jack o lanters, scarecrows, tombstones, haystacks, etc)
-Cloth tents (except the Human tent)
-All community style machines: ore refinery, clothworking centre, gemcutting structure, etc.
-All following expert, journeyman, and beginner shops: Alchemist, blacksmith, clothworking, confectioner, jewelry, leatherworker, mill, scholar, stoneworking, tinkerer, woodworking.
-Large and small fountains
-Frozen Pond
-Large and Small Gazebo
-Large, Medium, and small Human Gambling Dens
-Large, Medium, and small Human Taverns
-Skating Pond
-Large Wooden Archway with Ivy
-Archway with Ivy
I am guessing that all Walls, Fences, Stone Flooring, Stone Walkways, Tile Flooring, and Silos are supposed to be unlimited in number?

Walls, fences, and flooring are not meant to have a limit, that is true.
now why would you need tree's limited, it's been unlimited for 9 yrs. you now claim unknown bug? ferns aren't gonna take anything away from the game, that tree's don't already do. lets get off this server load non-sense please. we have so few players now, that that in itself is a reduction in server load.
neither tree's nor the ferns will be that big of a load. yet other things that have been asked for, and agreed that it's no problem to add, like vault bulk, still haven't been added.
Ooh so does this mean that silos are supposed to have a limit. I think this is a great idea as I noticed I tend to lag really badly around silos farms.
Too much lag causes lag problems also - let's limit that first :rolleyes:
