In the years since I played last, some different options were added to plot planning. I see a lot of different floor and grass tiles that can be put on plots now. I see some plots where there are structures sitting on top of these tiles. My question is this: do I have to put down the grass/floor tile first? Or the building first? Or will doing it the wrong way prevent me from building one or the other?
You can build in any order you want,neither will prevent from building the other. it may be easier to place tiles first but there really is no restriction anymore.

When you go to add resources to the flooring, stand at the corner of it not where the boxes or pile or rocks is sitting. Learned this the hard way, hopefully it helps you.
Note that only 1 of the 4 corners has the tiny footprint and the point resources can be readily added. The plot planning screen shows a small dot at the correct corner but not all players can necessarily see it readily.Quote:

The small dot WILL go red under other plot footprints and will clash with buildings (not the whole area, just the tiny dot) meaning you can't build on top of the dot - for this reason, and the fuss of tiles in general (eg. avoiding overlapping flooring graphic glitches) I always place any flooring LAST so it won't get in the way of construction of anything else.Quote:
