Question Should Nox come out of hibernation?

Hmm, well I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Istaria still exists.

I joined way back when and founded a branch of my Clan there. We loved it for quite a while but then came the server merges, etc.

I'm rather burned out on MMOs in general but I do miss my dragon, Noxuathl and the community Istaria often gave us.

Have there been many improvements? Is lair building less tedious? Does enough of a role-playing, friendly community survive on Order?

Finally, since I doubt I'd convince former Clanmates to return and probably wouldn't join another guild (at least not immediately since I've been my own guild leader since about 2000), would I be fine on my own?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    welcome home :-)

This is my perspective, others may have different answers:
Yes there have been lots of improvements to Istaria over the past 2-3 years. I recommend starting with a fresh character to relearn the world before getting into anything major with your established character(s).

Lair building remains a challenge for the staunch-hearted.

Roleplay often requires a little prompting but usually gets going quickly. Heavy roleplaying on Order is often done in private/semi-public chats set up for the purpose, but folks are generally expected to remain in character in local and public chats (except New Player). That said, game help is generally given for how-to questions in any chat though it may take 5-10 min for folks to break out of battle before responding.

You should be fine without joining a guild if you don't wish to. However, you may expect some delays in having crafting requests met such as having to wait until the weekend, etc. before the crafter can get to it. Group hunts on Order are often organized in either Happy Hunting or Marketplace chats (especially high level).

    Good luck! :-)

Thank you, Awdz, I appreciate the response.

I had already considered that I would be best hatching a new Dragon to re-familiarize myself (plus I still remember LOVING being a new hatchling, heh) so great minds.....

I'm stuck at work right now but I think you're right, the only way is to dive in and have a look for myself so I'll be re-installing tonight and have a look.

As for the crafting, I think I had just about everything covered amongst all my characters so should be able to be self sufficient when necessary.

    Cheers.

Wow, I just dug back through my old posts. It seems my last awakening was back in 2006! It has been a long hibernation this time. heh

    come in and find out

The game has improved very much, the community still is best of all.

New landscapes, new mobs, new quest-new challenges- and drags that become VERY mighty- if you are willing to train them hard.

There is so much to do and see and have fun with.
You are not forced to proceed fast if you do not want to.
And we shall help with everything and answer your questions.

    Hope to meet you ingame
YOU told me to play a dragon!
