Doom Not Loading

For some reason, whenever I teleport into the Doom - no matter what character - I don't load. No land does, my character doesnt.. well, minus my shadow and the fire at my feet from Primal Attack.

I've tried clearing my cache (which crashed hte launcher), manually clearing it, full scan patching, recalling, re-porting, relogging, but all to no avail.

Any clue what the heck is going on?

Same here. It's going on for quit some time.
Log out and log in again fixes it for me but you lose your buffs.

Whenever I tried to relog within the doom, I got stuck and it never worked. I had to get my friend to recall my character out; even force recall became unsucessful.

This is even worse. I cannot teleport to the Rift either.

What the heck IS going on? I have left my character there for 30 minutes or more hoping he loads, and still no luck. The sky doesnt even change.

I've basically run out of ideas on what to do.

Have you tried porting, then Recalling, then trying the port again (without ever closing the game)?

Yes, I've done that multiple times.

Ooookay, I tried using the new launcher and it lags my computer so much that I have to shut it down before it crashes.

Edit: Just used the newest launcher. Besides making my cahracter copper for some reason (Shian's color mod, though it's not even on my computer.. -mutter-), no help. I'll try patching but it doesn't really work with the new launchers. "Failed to create directory"

I hate to post 3 times in a row, but I can't edit my last post unfortunately. I took screenshots of what it looks like. Also, some of Drakul isn't loading. i think it's time for a reinstall... :\

o_O looks like you're missing some terrain.

Sounds like you're having multiple problems there, too. Which launcher you use shouldn't affect how the client runs, so let's put that aside for now. What shard and client build are you using? (client build is in red text in /window fpswindow, it should start with 383.x or 384.x. The version on the splash screen looks similar, but isn't the same.)

Okay.. I am, in fact, missing terrain. How do you re-download it?

(I looked inmy blighthorizons terrain and had some folders in there I'm missing from my orderhorizons)

As fr as I know you have to remove the read only from your horizons directory -> the reason why it fails to create new directory. After that do a full scan.

While the patcher does populate the world cache, the client should still have the logic in place to download any missing or outdated terrain. I'm also at a loss as to why your client behaves differently when you use different launchers.

Why on earth would the read-only bit get set on horizons (or world_cache/*)? That would certainly screw things up.

Sounds like a Windows 7 thing perhaps? OT: I'm personally still holding onto Vista until my next upgrade purely for the issues peeps have had with Istaria and Win7.

WTF it IS on read only!!! I'll unselect it from that and go into the doom in a few (I transfered my blight cache rift files to order.. hey, it worked.) to see if it works. I'll update you on if it works.

I don't know why on earth or whereever it would, I know I got same message a while ago and the read only bit was certainly not something I had done.

Unticking read only has made me redownload all my land but all riiiight... better than missing entire maps. I have yet, though, to teleport to the Doom or anything to check if it works but I will.. but with the fact I'm actually downloading land, I think it'll work.

Don't think it's an Istaria-specific quirk/bug. I've seen other programs randomly rendered "screaming insane" by mysterious read-only changes. Hopefully everything straightens itself out when you finish downloading all the terrain!

On a similar note, my character did not load or have the ability to move the first time I port into Doom. Everything else loaded though, and after a relog there were no more issues.
