Hello everyone,
I know that there once was the check from Istaria if there are files not belonging to Istaria and deleting them upon start. This is currently (or better for a long while already) disabled.
I never installed Istaria from the scratch again since I started playing. Now I took a look and did the following:
- started launcher2.jar
- copied every file within the game folder (but NOT the subfolders) into a backup direcoty
- deleted every file within the game folder (but NOT the subfolders and not launcher2.jar because it's in use)
- told the launcher to make a full patch
After the files were back, I crosschecked the files and the following files weren't downloaded from the patcher:
Code:
Launcher.exe
Launcher.XmlSerializers.dll
msvcirt.dll
msvcm80.dll
msvcp71.dll
msvcp80.dll
msvcr71.dll
msvcr80.dll
crash_sender_checkpoint
JavaLauncherII.jar
launcher.jar
LauncherCustomization.pdf
istaria.pdb
eula.rtf
eula.txt
gfxdiag.txt
ReadMe.txt
rulesofconduct.txt
TempWmicBatchFile.bat
uninstall.exe
I know I most surely just can delete these files (except the uninstall.exe, not that I ever want to uninstall it. The file just isn't downloaded from the patcher). I just wanted to see, if there might be the possibility again to let Istaria check for files not from Istaria itself and give the possibility (prior it was not possible to stop it from deleting) to delete files not needed. I guess the game just checked which files weren't in the master_file_list-file and deleted everything else.
Funnily there is still a no_delete_list in the version_info folder. But it doesn't seem to check for that.
