Drain Strike VI quest

Maybe I'm missing something but Severant isn't offering me the drain strike VII quest, and I'm above lvl 75. VI is still active.

Any ideas?

You need to be Level 75 and have completed Drain Strike VI.

Sorry, you can't skip any of those quests (like many of the dragon ability quests), until you complete the previous quest.

ie You're level 75 and you didn't even realize there was such a thing as Drain Strike quest until today. You technically should be able to get Drain Strike VII, but that's not how they're setup. In this scenario, you'd have to start with Drain Strike I and work your way up.

Thanks, Cegaiel, but I guess I didn't make myself clear. I am level 80 and I have completed Drain Strike VI. It is an active ability that I use regularly and is not "inactive" like it would be if I had completed VII.

Yet Severant just gives me his generic greeting when I visit him with no indication of an available quest.

Oh, when you said you have VI active, I thought you meant you had the quest active (as in you didn't complete the quest yet).

Hmm, this quest doesn't have a keyword that might be prevent it from being acquired, but his persistent dialogue might.

I have a question, when you greet him, which of the two statements does he speak?

1) Ah, I see you recognize me. Little surprise there, as I am Severant, the great Lunus Dragon. I have mastered the ability to drain the life from my opponents with a swipe of my claws. It's a talent I'm sure you'd love to learn.

2) You are already undergoing a trial for training. I will not break our traditions by giving you another.

Can you also double check you don't have Drain Strike VII active in quest log, and check Quest complete Log for Drain Strike VI. You obviously would have VI completed since you are using the ability; I'm just trying to eliminate a possible glitch.

If your answer is #2, then see if you have one of these quests active in your log:

Interesting results from running through your suggestions.

I get response #1 from Severant.

The only active quests I have are Drain Bolt VIII and Lunus Path 3.3 Defeat the Entombed and Infuse the Claw

Now for the following, keep in mind that this hatchie is 3733 days old and has a few other inequities from over the years, but no game stopping problems.

When looking in the completed quest log I see the following completed quests:
Drain Strike I thru V Last completed Unknown (probably several years ago, the last time I played him)
Drain Strike VI Last completed 04/22/15 (shortly after I reactivated my subs)
Drain Strike VII Last completed Unknown

I'm pretty sure that I never had the opportunity to request the VII quest and I only have VI available in my abilities, so I'm stumped.
Toon is Dergam Raachii on Chaos. Is it possible to get that quest reset?

Just completed the quest, got DS VII and the quest for 8, since I had turned 80 in the meantime.
