Game won't start

I have 3 different machines I play on from time to time - today, one of them refuses to start the game. I just played on this machine a few days ago and it worked fine.

The launcher comes up and I select my character, then when I hit "Play" the launcher goes away and nothing happens.

I've run a full scan, but the problem persists.

Is there a log or something I can look at to see what's not working? Or is there something else I can try to get it running?

Open your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) make sure Istaria.exe isn`t already running. if it is, end the process, and try again.
Also make sure your Java is up to date, and enabled.
Another thing you can check, make sure nothing changed in your antivirus such as a firewall blocking Istaria.exe or Java.
Aside from that, I`ve no clue why the game wouldn`t be loading for yah.

I checked task manager - nothing. In fact, I rebooted the machine just to make sure. Firewall isn't blocking it as far as I can tell. Java should be up to date. Like I said, I just played it from this machine a couple days ago.

Is there a log file that will show me if there's some error going on?

open up troubleshooting on the select character screen, see if you have an option to use dx9 shaders. Is so uncheck it and then see if can get in.

I wonder if Windows 10 did an update in the past few days that changed something, preventing it from running maybe? Very strange...

Windows 10 updates are mainly on the second Tuesday of the month, but MS is does pop them out at other times too.
