RE: the Wiki, just a minor correction - it was actually created by ObyDragon in March 2008, who was kind enough to add me on as Admin while he/she took a leave of absence. But thankyou very much for the kind words, which I also pass on to the wonderful editors who have been slaving away to add content, correct all my mistakes, and visit locations in Istaria where my alts would get pulped into a bloody mess

(sorry I shouldn't have posted so soon - didn't read the whole post!)

Is the Launcher's secondary (some would say primary!) job to resolve the Vista issues people are experiencing? Managing characters via the launcher is great, but if it fixed Vista problems... hell that would be worth it's weight in gold

I really hate to rain on your report, but....

the section dealing with vista seems to indicate that the bulk of the work on vista compatability is focused on coding a new launcher... This perplexes me, because the old launcher works just fine under vista. Coding a new launcher won't cause Horizons.exe to suddenly start working. Everyone I have spoken with who uses Vista had little or no trouble getting as far as the client launching, the problem is that the client crashes immediately uppon launch.

Please please say that the client is recieving coder love, please tell me you are already aware that the client crashing immediately is the majour problem with vista compatability, not the launcher.....

Wording means everything...the Developers desk says "This launcher is also a big step toward being able to bring our "Vista trapped" players back to Istaria." Doesn't say it IS the key, but a big step towards.

Not trying to be rude or anything Shur...just don't want people to get the wrong idea.

Do we even have a rough rough estimate for the labyrinth? I need to know when I need to start getting my level 12 hatchie up to 100. XD

i realize that, that was my point. the way it is worded suggests that the primary focus is on a new launcher, when the primary problem lies in the client itself.

No, Shur, the way it was worded does not say that. Now if you want to interrupt it as such, feel free. But the way it was worded says it is a big step, not the key step.

The way it is worded Shur tells me the way the web page is starting the game now is bad and makes it harder if not impossible to fix. now once they get the stand alone launcher fixed they will have a different way of starting the program and then be able to fix or change how the game is started.

One question on the new launcher.. Will we be able to switch characters without totally logging out of game and then back in? lol i always find that to be such a pain

Everything sounds wonderful can't wait for the Labyrinth!!

Go Team!!

So does this mean there is a little ray of hope somewhere? We're getting closer?

That'd be great. I'm using the VM workstation fix right now, but it has it's issues, and I'd love to be able to use my computer to play at it's best capacity; that'd be great! I'm eagerly awaiting the Vista fix

Don't you mean 'Now if you want to interpretate it as such,'? :P

"interpret" vs "interpretate" ? 1992-what forums? Horizons was launched late 1993, just before Christmas...

Lots of wonderful things coming along, thank you for the update, Amarië!

Interpret... interpretate... I dunno, what's the difference? I say interpretate but... I dunno XD But 'interrupt', I've never heard that used in that way before so I thought I'd be annoying and question. XD

1992 = squealing Galde baby

Not exactly accurate, but it was a joke XD
