Re: A real old timer is...
Probably already mentioned:
A real old timer remembers when dragons could multi-class.
A real old timer remembers the resource server lag days in the beginning when you could load up your inventory with thousands of a resource and hope you can run fast enough to the processing machine before getting caught with the stuff showing up, being "overburdened" and could not move.
A real old timer remembers the days of guilds camping Feladan because it was "THE" place to level groups off of the 35th - 40th level undead and spiders.

A real old timer knows it's easier to link items that can't be found in the game any more than to post about being an old timer in the forums.... :)
Re: A real old timer is...
A real old-timer knows why there is a statue of Roxi in Back Bay on Order, and realizes that, yes, Horizons/Istaria IS more than "just a game".

Hmm, any more old-timer memories that are worth mentioning? This thread has been awfully quiet lately. :D

Re: A real old timer is...
while crafting, i was reminded how an old-timer would remember the construction units having more bulk than the resources used to make them... and getting stuck waaaay overburdened and not wanting to lose a single construction unit...! and old-timer friends coming to the rescue with big empty pockets/disks/etc.

A real oldtimer remembers the likes of Krankenspank and AoP as deadly enemies - not the laughingstocks they would be if they returned now as was.
A real oldtimer helped free dryads and satyrs, and build novo machines.
A real oldtimer .. ah I forget .. old age and senility is catching up with me.
Wow, flashback I remember doing the quest for the Zymosis cure, spending days crafting spells for hoard for around 4 hoard a piece, and then having it leak while you tried to get ahead. I especially remember the competition for gold and silver golems, and the "soul fragment" craze back when they were easy experience.
Re: A real old timer is...
That brought a lot of memories and laughs
Oh do I recall that 100 dwarfs quest... and AOP catching me inside a building in Harro, he could walk through walls, I could not. The last day of Life. :(
Old timers remember bulding the rainbow bridge, still 1 of the prettiest thing in Istaria, too bad too few see it. :)
Old timers remember the day when any mobs would kill you with 1 blow, even a lv 1.... lots of ppl stayed in town for those days. hehe

Old timers remember when salt was a bonus. :p
Image, once a Mage dragoness in another Life. ;)
