Exactly. Its a matter of knowing which battles we will and we won't win. Frankly this isn't that bad of a change and I'm for it because you can do both Primal Roar and Determination at the same time. That is something we couldn't do before and it benefits hybrid builds most.
I also agree with Cal's point that we can't have it all nor should we. This is the thing, we are going to have to pick and choose what we use and what suits us best. Things have changed before and they will continue to change. For every change we have always adapted our tactics and our builds to suit the new changes. That will continue.
Re: blight delta 265-discussion
Just on primal roar/determination changes here...
Make peds useless? Are gifts ALL you use peds for on hunts? They have heals, enhances, conjurer buffs, if you're complaining this makes peds more useless because they can't cast 3 gifts on dragon anymore, then you're using peds totally wrong. :P
Most dragons only need primal roar OR determination, not one or the other, thus only taking away one gift slot. Now, in my experience as a healer, i usually cast Gift of Health, then Strength or Power depending on build, then Dexteirty of Focus respectively. Honestly, losing Gift of Focus/Dex doesn't make a huge difference at all, and it's a much better trade off to have determination/primal roar there in place of dex/focus...even if determination/primal roar overwrote gift of strength/power it'd STILL be great because then you can also cast dex/focus sitll and still get the boost in accuracy AND firepower.
Reduce need for gift scrolls? See above, you're only losing one slot.
Now in the case of hybrids...you may wanna use both, even if you only used one it'd still work. If you DO use both however, once again, they're better! Much more effective that casting power/strength gifts, plus there's still one slot left for gift of health! So you still have a use for a gift.
Does the lack of one gift really effect anything? Not really. It's the enhances that give the best buff to stats and in comparison, the biped gifts are only a smudge. One single gift can't do a whole lot of difference, so it won't change much losing it.
(this is all assumign that during epic hunts you actually take off your gift of velocity - it's less work for peds like that ^^ )

I can`t (and won`t ) close my mind to your reasoning.
*feels tarred and feathered and flees from this thread*^^
Thank you all for this discussion anyway;)

On hoard costs!
Okay i've said it before...and i'l say it again...you shouldn't have anything wrong with your niche :D But hey, at least i find GRs "improved" hoard cost repulsive enough that i'm gonna raise a biped to a level that it can fight on it's own :P
I've also said before that you can't ruin GR until you rehaul dragon schools!
So first of all..automatically hits? not needed. at all. by having your gr automatically hit you take away from the use of sharper tech (a tech already rarely used save for hybrids) and ruin risk. Your giving an ability too much power...i for example have a dps build on my main draggie, and like the point of that build is that you do more damage for more risk (high damage vs low armour and the possibility of missing) and by having your gr miss...what's the point? why not ALL be dps? :D
The hoard cost is obscene..dragons better HOPE they're all leveling peds in doom because they're gonna need hoard falling falling out of their inventory to sustain their dragons. :P oh and look..a lot of dragon primary don't have reliable ped back up or even a ped to level!
Rackie's stats say it all i think...you don't even reach 20 million hoard (maybe 15 million optimistically if you always chose to trophy grind ogres) while leveling to 100. You do A LOT of grinding after 100 for haord CURRENTLY. I don't think we need to extend that grind to needing to regrind hoard every day.
Now i'd be okay with GR's hoard value because i don't really like GR either. But as i said...gotta do a school revamp to sort that out. Dragons only have GR to make them a slightly viable thing to use in fighting especially if you want to fight anything t6 now...just glad that most (sorry dd dragon title hunters, your hoards gonna die figthings the bugs in doom especially that usually need more than one GR to down) t6 mobs drop hoard.
But you failed to realize too that you get GR at level 70! At level 70..gr hoard at over 12k, especially when you maybe don't even have 10 million hoard at that level, is gonna drain it so fast if you use it, that level 70s will just have to never use GR until 100. :P But oh wait..dragons are really weak without GR. You can't realy fight anything in groups as a melee type without GR...
4k-6k sounds really reasonable though. Enough that if a level 70 rarely uses it their hoard won't die, and enough to make an ancient with currently more than 30 million hoard need to hunt stuff to replenish it occasionally. :D
EDIT: Especially if you're raising the timer too..nerfing GR completely? lower damage, up recycle time, and give it enough hoard coast that we don't want to use it anyway? :P
I'm alright with high timers, really, but NOT if you're shoving the hoard up that much.
Re: blight delta 265-discussion
25.333 M Hoard is the max needed for level 100 ancient for armor bonus. I think I have somewhere around 188M so I'm ok. To tell you the truth All the loot I get now I just sell for Coin because I have so much Hoard I don't even worry about it. What I see with this change is me worrying about it :-). I will have to actually hoard things instead of getting coin OMG O.O.
I would rather have seen the damage or delay go down or longer and other attacks come up a bit to make people play in a style besides GRVII wait 15 sec GRVII. I think I can live with it though.
Let's face it, once you have your plot set up and all the spells there isn't much use for $$ anyways other than bragging rights. So maybe there can be a way Dragons can talk Bi-peds into trading Hoard to them now? Perhaps I'll give you x amount of hoard for x ammount of those Dragon damage crystals? Crystal Shaper might be a good income for Hoard now. Look out Market Place, although those crystal last quite a long time so not sure if that will work.
Do dragons use GRVII? I thought they just sat in NT on roof tops? ^.^

That's not true. Sharper doesn't only help Gold Rage, it helps all attacks. People would still need Sharper for Ravage, Silver Strike, etc.
As far as the cost, I think 4x the current cost for Gold Rage VII would be acceptable.
As far as hoard and buying it from bipeds, this really doesn't sit well at all. It would become a HUGE reliance on bipeds for hoard farming. (Biped abilities are all hoard free). In years past Dragons have needed bipeds just to do arop, Drain strike quests, Drulkar's wrath quests, Hero's resolve questlines (Ahkanis needs a rune stylus, drulkars wrath needs dye kits, hero's resolve needs biped foods, on and on). It didn't sit well with many players that this was the case, and now we are at bipeds mercy to buy hoard? No thanks. And it will come to this, because the 20x cost is absurd.
Current hoard costs
GR1 40
GR2 90
GR3 160
GR4 250
GR5 360
GR6 490
GR7 640
I would propose the existing amounts follow this multiplication:
GR1, GR2, 1x current cost (40, 90. no change)
GR3, GR4, 2x current cost (320, 500 respectively)
GR5, GR6, 3x current cost (1800, 1470 respectively)
GR7, 4x the current cost (2560)
You don't want to price Hatchies out of Gold Rage, so the first couple tiers should be left alone.
At 12800, you will be pricing it right off many dragons hotkey bars.
Devs want to make Dragons into bipeds. Weaker than bipeds really, which is what this would do. Not really the best idea to do to the Games' primary draw. How many are going to stick around for a daily hoard grind? Bipeds don't have anything even close to a hoard cost for abilities. But a massive nerf like this, is just as bad as the narrow-minded hoard leak Dragons were implemented with 11 years ago. "Can't have them too powerful, or everyone will just play Dragons!" That was the original thinking behind Dragon school design. And it was completely backwards from what it should have been. Don't repeat past devs' mistakes.

Agreed in full guaran. It is this past concerning hoard-leak and being beholden to bipeds for hoard that are nightmares which I do not want to revisit. :(
If the hoard costs get lowered, i'm cool with the change to GR. It just can't stay at that amount without running into these two issues again.
