Re: "Crimson Gold-etched Earring of Ire" how it works?
Back in the day this jewellery was sought-after because the bonus to stats was much better than with regular jewellery of the same level. The downside was the DoT (damage over time) debuff imposed on the wearer, but for someone capable of taking the damage and out-healing it the bonus was worth it.
Now this jewellery is quite possibly obsolete, there are many better choices without the debuff. I have a few pieces still, they're not exactly in demand :)

Re: "Crimson Gold-etched Earring of Ire" how it works?
Here is what I read from that, I could be wrong.
You get Extra Damage of 15 to 25 Blight every 15 seconds for 6 Minutes and during that 6 minutes your heals will give you 150 to 250 less heal.
If this is right, its not a very good piece of Jewelry unless you don't have to heal for 6 minutes. If you have a healer with you healing then it would work ok.
Being a piece of Jewelry I think it will trigger the effect again every 6 minutes too, so you will have the effect all the time you wear it.
If I'm wrong could someone explain it please.
Re: "Crimson Gold-etched Earring of Ire" how it works?
It damages you to wear it, about 10 damage every 6 seconds, and the "Taint of the Crimson Scourge" effect also reduces healing by a large amount.
The only thing that really made it desirable at first, was that the dot would break mezzes on the player. Once that was changed, the jewelry was pretty much worthless except for the top end piece (necklace I believe). And that piece is now far outstripped by t5 t6 jewelry.
Yeah, it's not very good jewelry, and hasn't dropped in several years.

Totally forgot about this prior benefit - indeed the very reason for Crimson Scourge gear losing popularity overnight was that very change.
