help killing greater anchor not recognized

I came in to the bridge of morning light ( to get some wood) when I saw Drezulie and jabbers fithing a greater anchor.

and I desided to join into the fight. this was ad the end of the fight by the way. cast a couple of bolt did some curing, I hit the anchor for damage probably a 100 in total in five bolts, and then it was killed.

I did get the epic boss aura ( i noticed it still active after 10 minutes when it was ad 49 minutus and counting down.

How ever i was not able to get the loot the corpse

I was able to lot the other casulties

PS I did this after giving drezulie and jabber eveyrthing they wanted.

I also didn't get the compleation of the daily quest kill a greater epic.

If you did not join the group, you will not get any credit. You must be in the group that kills the anchor. Sorry, that is the way it is. Very unforgiving game. Always has been. Slimey on Order

To add on to what Slimey said, it's an anti-griefing feature to prevent thieves from stealing the loot of groups by dropping in, grabbing a few hits, nabbing the loot, and leaving.

It's unfortunate that it also affects genuine attempts to help, but at least you know for the future you'll need a group invite to get loot / credit from the monsters a group is fighting.

I can understand and I agree with the feature for loot. But why had this been implemented also for the quests. There is no griefing there.

While I do not exactly know the cause or reason, these are my educated guesses -

• You did not do enough damage for it to count. 500 total damage vs the anchor may not have been enough of a dent on its health for the quest system to 'count' it as a kill.
• A system is in place to prevent non-grouped members from getting credit as to avoid players freeloading off of others' work by being in the area and thus getting credit from their kills.
• A system is in place to prevent non-grouped members from getting credit to avoid players fighting over the same exact mob, which could lead to struggles in who gets the loot distribution.

However, I'll still bring it up to the other developers and see what they think - as well as whether its intentional or not.
