Istaria Companion - log file parser for The Gifteds

Greetings everyone.
I've been busy lately programming a log file parser for the game and thought it would be nice for everyone to use it, too.

Currently the parser is able to parse DPS for each fight and to send an audio message to you whenever you looted a defined item. More features will be added later on hopefully. I am always up for suggestions so if you got any, let me know and PM me.

there has been a small bug in the installer, causing to not define the program to be launched as administrator. If you experience problems launching Istaria Companion after installing, please read this article to fix it, or download one of the updated Installers again and reinstall.

You can automatically parse the installation folder via the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Virtrium\Istaria

I do wonder, why the installation file has 40MB. If extracting it via UniExtract, the files in the end only have like 700KB

No they indeed have around 40Mb. Companion's code is just some kilobytes but Eclipse's RCP libraries (which Companion is based on) come with a huge amount of stuff. Probably an overkill but I decided to do some training with that technology :-)

Getting Istaria's path via registry is a no-go since people may have multiple install folders, so Companion won't be able to extract them from there. Also, when one did not use the Istaria installer and just copied over to a second folder.

Istaria Companion 1.1.0 released

A new feature has been added, AbilitiesSpy, which enlists all abilities a player/creature is using while being in your range. Also, LootPing has got an update: Now you're able to set a target amount for each item. When the amount has been reached, a nice chooseable sound will be played.

LootPing now supports gathering messages aswell. For example, if you want to be informed when gathering special resources. Comes in very handy when fishing (Squid etc.).

Istaria Companion 1.2.1 released

Fixes:

• LootPing now wraps it's text and table accordingly when changing the window's width.
• LootPing can be limited on playing a sound now, when an item's target amount is reached.
• Fixed a problem with the 'search in wiki' buttons, where a new selection in tables won't update the button's functionality.
• QuestSpy doesn't add 'icon_xxx' lines to the quest steps anymore.
• QuestSpy now sorts the quest steps correctly.
• Fixed a bug where, after switching Companion's working directory, QuestSpy still extracted quest details from the old working directory.
• Tweaked most of the tables so they won't add a horizontal scrollbar if not urgently necessary.
• Improved the look-and-feel by adding icons to buttons and menu entries.
• Fixed 'something' in the Audioplayer so hopefully less RAM is used.

Istaria Companion 1.2.2 released
This is mainly a bugfix version. Lootping happened to bug the entire tool after deleting all items in the list and restarting Companion. I recommend everyone to update to this version.

Istaria Companion 1.3.0 released
A new feature, SipSpy, has been added, which also replaces the 'Search and copy SIP to clipboard' in tools menu. SipSpy lets you search for certain entities, such like quests, abilities, items, formulas, etc. to be able to copy a /sip command into your game's chat. Firing it up opens up a details dialog for you.

Istaria Companion 1.4.5 released
Bugfixes:
Fixed a problem in DPS parser, where creatures were not flagged as killed and proceeded recording DPS, even after they were gone.

Improvements
- LootPing now has a console output, enlisting the last 50 looted/gathered items in detail.
- All tables can now be sorted. Just click the column of a table to sort it ascending/descending.
