Windows 10 & Dual Logging
I've been dual logging my characters frequently until this week when I got windows 10 update. Now when I try to dual log the first install is booted when I start up the second install. I get the unhandled exception, would you like to submit a crash report message pop up. I have two installs of Istaria on one computer. Any ideas how to get windows 10 to play nice?
Re: Windows 10 & Dual Logging
How much ram do you have? I'd recommend 8gb minimum for dual logging.
You can try this, see if it happens to make any difference. Start the first Istaria. Then go to task manager, processes, right click it, select affinity. change it to only use half the cores shown. the first 2 of the 4 if you see 4, the first 4 of the 8 if you see eight. Now launch the second Istaria, also make sure you are really using the second copy :)
It will crash out if you run it from the same copy twice, because both will be trying to access the world cache and when one copy encounters a locked file and tries to edit or update it, ctd.
Re: Windows 10 & Dual Logging
Be sure that the game Launcher stays open while dual logging. Troubleshoot button, last option: Do not close after Launch.
Re: Windows 10 & Dual Logging
Problem solved, rolled this machine back to Win 7 - it is only a dual core processor, a bit wimpy for Win 10. (this post made by Dracaena's tech support).
