These crystals dropped (all except the Flawless) pre-merge in the western deadlands from Bone Golem Leaders, and ocasionally from the skeleton soldiers as well. They also briefly dropped post merge but once all the new mobs went in,these mobs were removed.

Flawless did not drop, but were sold by the Vielo, pre- merger. There were 4 per shard, that's it.

little-known detail, the level 75 stones (flawless variety) did drop for a short period of time. When the Lich King's forces invaded the Western Deadlands, the Ebon Knights dropped them. These golems were only in the game for a week or two at most before being pulled and then reserved solely for raid events. Like you say though, the majority of the level 75 stones came from the vielo [:)]

Well the dropped ones were even more rare than the ones on the vielo. Some to my knowledge never dropped:Misty Peridot.The Sugent Peridot dropped ONCE in the Western deadlands (for 1 player on one shard) and then the mobs were quickly yanked ( don't ask me why). The other's dropped during 1, perhaps 2 raid events, and then it was only a couple of the flawless variety. Some Brilliants dropped during 2 events.

Subsequent raid events the mobs no longer drop these at all.

Also, a patch or 2 back when they fixed some of the new crystals, all the Pulsing Stones were renamed into the Shimmering stones. So there's no longer any around called Pulsing Beveled Stone, etc.
