    Default List of Optimal Skills for Scales and Spells (Salvaged from Tazoon)

    The following is the post originally found in the dragon crafting forums on Tazoon.com. I don't know who compiled it, but it wasn't me so I take no credit for it! Thanks to whoever compiled it! The formatting is a bit messed up, but I was too lazy to fix it. It's still readable though.

    So you sit down and are ready to do a crafting run. But hark, what shall you make? ... 15 minutes go by as you check out each spell and scale formula you have and repeatedly compare them to your stats. Well, thats time in your life you'll never get back.

    But no longer! Being bored at work, and having access to Matecuss's nifty Crafting Companion/Calculator produces frightening and mindnumbing results.

    Here is 2 lists, one of all T1 Spells, and one of all T1-4 scales; ordered by Optimum level. Simply find which optimum level is closest (yet below) to you current level in spell or scalecraft, and that spell/scale _should_ net you the most bang for your buck. All optimum numbers listed are minus techs, since I highly doubt you'll be using techs in your make/deconstruct runs.

    Spells: I shortened some names to first and/or second letter of the name to save space; they shouldn't be too cryptic. Primal spells, which I'll assume every dragon buys are _old_school_underlined_. Other spells with the same Optimal level as a Primal spell have an * next to them (to denote a completely unnessesary spell for crafter level progression.)

    There are gaps between the spellcraft numbers on our primal spells (100 to 130, 140 to 170 being the largest in-tier ones). You could level up through those gaps on only primals, but you'd be making things tougher on yourself than you need to.

    For Tier 2 spells, simply add 225 to the number I have listed.
    For Tier 3 spells, add 550 to the number I have listed.
    For Tier 4 spells, add 775 to the number I have listed.

    On to the scales. Material is abriviated to the First initial of the Material (T1:B=Bronze, S=Sandstone, G=Gems). Next 2 columns denote the type of Scale (Str C = Strength Chest). At the step where you could make a Scalepack or a Focus Wing, the scalepack is worth more exp per raw resource due to the Multi-material bonus.

    Edit: Having just leveled up through one of the gaps between tiers, you seem to hit the gap between T1 and T2 Scales at the same time as you do T1 and T2 spells. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like you just have to slog through doing 4-5 levels of exp on the same formula, reguardless if you do scales or spells.
