Dragon bite does *slash* damage while the dot does *pierce* damage

    don't think that is correct...

Fire ogres did ice damage for their standard attacks. I had ogre cry show mind damage once and ice damage the rest of the time.

Beat you to it, Alladania. From the patch notes on Blight for Friday:

[*]Fire Ogres and Fire Pygmies will now do flame damage.[*]Flame Ogres and Flame Pygmies will now do flame damage.

Someone mentioned the generic "nature" damage message. Elements = Nature sure. When lightning arrows Stun as evident from the animation and lack of progress from the monster the Combat messaging no longer states "Stunned"

That was helpful during lag and the animation is still helpfulonly if it'stimely when being viewed.

Flame Bomb VI isn't giving a damage message type.

seems odd to me that wolves have attacks with names like
"Frenzied Bite" and "Critical Bite" yet the damage type is
Slash... seems counterintuitive (I would think a bite would
    be Pierce damage...)

Wind Golems do primal damage. Including the ability Golem Crush X. Not sure if thats right.

Wind golems are somewhat like the tempest golems, who I'd expect to be seeing them as primal too. They also use a refreshing breeze ability, so it might make sense they are primal based.

it does both. % chance to proc a pierce effect, the rest is flame damage.

Is that a recent observation? I'm asking because after the damage type was changed a thread was started that pointed out that it was summoning magic not flame magic at all and the change broke a useful spell. I'm hoping that your post here today indicates that they realized it wasn't checked on their end properly and changed back to summon.

to my knowledge, there has never been a summoning damage type. Flame spear and ice hammer have always done flame/ice damage, and have a percent chance to proc an extra pierce/crush damage. just last week i tested flame spear on the test server, and it seemed to be working as it always did for me.

Flame spear, as originally designed and since release did pierce damage, with a % chance to do additional flame damage. Because of this thread, it doing pierce damage was mistakenly perceived to be a bug, and the spell was "fixed" (neutered) to do flame damage with a % chance to do flame damage. Making it pretty worthless.

Summoning spells are not supposed to be elemental damages, they are supposed to be physical damages.
Ice hammer does crush, shining blades does slash, flame spear does pierce.

The spell should never have been changed, as you are summoning the spear or hammer to do the damage, it has a chance (25%) to inflict elemental damage being the flame or ice.
If this was a flame spell, it should have flame techs, work with burnout/fusion burn and be under the flame skill. There is no reason to be a conjurer if you are casting just gimpier flame than a mage

Blight Hounds (level 104-107 or so, storm disciples) are listing as doing Unarmed damage when they hit.
This rather baffles me as a flame disciple, since with or without handwraps, I do crush damage on my basic melee attacks.
I haven't fought Fafnir, so I don't know what damage type its melee attacks do, only heard mention that it is also a blighted Storm Disciple.

Which doesn't make it right... it makes no sense at all for it to be flame.
