How to learn multiple teching?

What's involved in learning how to apply two or more techs to an item? Are there forms to learn? Does your Craft/Adventure school have to be a certain level? Thanks.

The guideline is:
* tier 1 and 2 craftables take on one tech,
* tier 3 and 4 craftables take on two techs,
* tier 5 (and eventually, 6) craftables take three techs.
No special skills are required, just the ability to create stuff of those tiers.

edit: I forgot to mention, addign a tech will increase the base difficulty of crafting the item. Usually it is tier*10 for each tech, but higher up there are odd excpetions to this rule, mostly in spell techs I think.
