a lonngggg time ago *cough* july. i posted this sketch.


ya know now its only.. well january..
and after 15 + hours of work over the past... months.. id say the majority iv worked on the past 4-5 days.
here is the finished product.. yes i know the grass is crappy.. i blame my lazyness.

Anatomy, linework, and "knowing what you're doing, you nutball" all conspire to get between me and my One True Love, coloring. It's really quite terrible. So for a quick little fancier-than-a-screenshot signature picture, I thought I'd go full lazy: creatively crop some screenshots for artist's training wheels (tracing is great! at last I understand why so many other talentless hacks do it too!) and then slather with colors until satisfied. And there were brushes! And locking the layers' transparency! And I only lost an hour remembering what Difference Clouds does for the backgrounds, plus how to make a new gradient, and none of any of it matters because most importantly I remembered how to work 8x as big as I want my final product to be.



You can't even see how shoddy my edges are! Woo! Well, mostly. The whole circus tent to the right doesn't count. (And it turned out fine in the sig. So there.)

And now I am going to take my thoroughly loopy, color-satiated self to bed. It was so quick! I probably only spent 8-10 hours poking at this! Hahahakljewq.

Oh yea - doign it huge like that and then reducing it all down made for an awsome sig! I love it.

Line tracing...zomg..I cant believe I never considered that...LOL. Photoshop..I may have to reinstall you now...

Cours half the rest of what you said I have no clue on, Im horrible at photoshop - I have some type of block trying to figure it out. Its like reading a foreign language trying to figure oout what all that stuff actualy DOES and is good for LOL.

But then I never took any guidance/training/class on it - just booted it up one day and started trying to make sigs. Made me mad...(though it did give me my current sig as well as a few othres) and I got rid of it.

Remember how I threatened to do a sibling portrait for Thickle at one point upthread? Yeah me neither. But I was in danger of working on art with a deadline instead of random fancy, so that had to be fixed. Which is how I ended up with this draft + "but I did like five whole minutes of lines, I wanna colorrrrrrr".

• Purple-lava looking haughty on the upper left is, duh, Thickle.
• Fatty pink-purple is Bocklesap. (Trivia: Bockle is the only of Thickle's siblings that has been created in game in any form. He's my Blight "Order is down and I'm booored" alt.)
• Red-pink is Gecklesop.
• Purple-pink is Wucklesup.

Aaaand watch me not work on this again until 2013.

(seriously, this is the best game EVER just for the colors I can stick on my dragons. Bwahaha.)
