Thread: Ballad of Istaria (Poetry)

    Default Ballad of Istaria (Poetry)

    The skies spread ever on above me;
    Below me the land weaves its tapestry-
    Shades of blue, shades of green in majesty;
    A breathing taking sight of endless beauty.

    Yet to the east and the west;
    Darkened land by the sun left unblessed-
    A foul dark mist of souls at unrest-
    The Withered Aegis keeps the dead at their behest.

    Take up your sword, you who walk the earth;
    Sound your battle cry, you who soar the skies-
    Defend your home and hearth-
    Till as naught but dust the Aegis lies!

    Let the smith temper the sword and shield,
    Let the spellcrafter spin spells for all to wield;
    The fate of the Gifted is one forever sealed-
    All in our way, we take to the battlefield!

    All of Istaria, the ancient empire, now unite!
    Those who may craft, those who may fight-
    We all have our place against the Blight;
    We shall return the Aegis to its plane of unending night!

    Rise up the dragons in their glory,
    Repent, fiends, your place in the tale-
    Dryad and Satyr now join the story-
    As into a future dark and unknown we now sail.

    It's cheesy. It's over dramatic. It's a bit rough. ...It killed about five minutes of my time waiting for the servers to come back up. Enjoy.

    Hey, I just knew it, there's plenty of bards in Istaria.

    Come forth, wielders of poetry, star singers and weavers of lore!
    snickel wigglsniff (retired) Twilight Crusaders on Unity
    poggle wigglsniff (gnomish crafter and mage) semi-retired on Order
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    A gnomish house should not just sit there, it should definitely DO something!
