Liquid cooling system was a fiasco! Radiator leaked like a sieve during a leak test. Going back to air cooling.

Reinstalling OS still has I/O device error, so with new DVD-ROM drive and HDD, it must be the motherboard. Ouch.

Had an idea last night. Will swap video cards to verify that suspicion. I had it last night in bed.

I have returned as of Saturday evening, the 24th.

One rule of electronics repair is: is it plugged in?

Another rule is: Is the CD you are using unscratched?

Turns out my operating system CD had a scratch and couldn't access critical data, causing the aforementioned fatal error.

So, after practically buying a new computer, all I really needed to do was buy a new CD.

Instead, I booted an old CD. So, I no longer have Windows XP Pro. I'm on XP Home.

And I now have two-and-a-half PCs and a laptop.

Anywhooo... My crazy self is back!

Three more days until sabbatical, then will have limited access.

Don't know when I'll be on, if at all.

Will be spending two months off work, with pay, with family.
