Using the word "letter's" implies that the letters own something. Shouldn't that first line be "I am 4 letters but my letters number 10."? That would help clarify the riddle a bit more.

I think there's either 4 different letters in the answer and the word is 10 letters long, or there's 4 letters total but their values add up to 10.
