Thread: Animal Trainer School?

  1. #1

    Default Animal Trainer School?

Has the idea of having pets in-game come across lately? Crafter skill of Animal Care and Training? Animal Taming? Would this run into the situation of having mounts?

    Anyway, just thoughts...

Pets were part of the planned expansion back in the Tulga era, which is now nothing more than a ghost of memory and a few bits of unfinished coding.

Pets would be a very low or no priority thing at this point I'd imagine. They would be neat, but they're not as important as tier revamps and other content additions.

*wants* I love pet classes (real ones, like UO, not just 'here, summon a critter') in games!

would be soooooo nice and would give some mounts to bipeds... maybe special mounts only for dryads and such? (as they are little)

from all the classes, pet summoner (or trainer, or master, or w/e) is always my prefered one

(in fact, pet trainer is master and summoner at the same time XD)

special buildings for pets and mounts to build and put in plots

lots of new stuff to do with pets =)

and i guess it's not impossible, use some monsters in-game and do a bit of coding

Oh, I can see it now. The dwarves of Aughundell invade southern Dalimond for the brown wolves.

Of course, getting the gnomes in New Rachival out after the desert wolves there wouldn't be too much of a stretch, either.

Are dryads going to end up taming wisps?

    lol

was thinking... if they do all the coding and mounts work well, they could tweak the coding to allow dragon riding!! (with a message asking if the biped can ride the draggie, of course )

Now if they could put fire bomb launchers on a cargo disk....

Cargo disks: Follow you when you tell them to. Stay where you put them, can be dismissed or summoned.

    Just a thought

Nah. 'Peds are un-tame-able. Too much whining, for starts

I think the idea of pets is a good one, though it'd require great amounts of coding to make them anything more than a replacement of a cargo disk. Perhaps something to look into as an eventual addition to the game?
