    Default Does anyone remember these?

Hey I was wondering if anyone remembers the gears that were placed in when cogs were first brought in. I don't think you can make them any more but I was wondering if anyone remembers how they were made.

This is what I am talking about:

They where part of the crystal revamp, Tinkeres could make them I think.

Didn't you need to combine cogs to make a gear?

I think they were never put in, as all I ever saw was the Dev post about what they were planning. Hopeful in the future they will be able to go back to that and work on it some more.

They were drops, but never made it to active use. They would have been combined with cogs some how.

IIRC only phase 1 of the crystal revamp was completed. Just like how only phase 1 of the confectioner revamp was completed.

I like how they decided to break up these revamps into modular phases; if you do things that way then you can release the revamp a bit at a time. And even if you never finish the final phases, at least something got finished and pushed to live.

If there was a phase 2 of the crystal revamp, it has been lost to the ravages of time... cause I've never seen any documentation on it I'm afraid and I wasn't involved in it.

As for Confectioner, considering it incomplete or unfinished will only lead you to heartbreak and disappointment.

Yarr. I don't expect anything else to be done on either one. But if they hadn't been broken into segments, then nothing would have ever been pushed to live. It would have remained a partly completed pipe-dream (still is partly completed, but at least part of it got released). I've noticed that a fair number of smaller games have started doing things this way over the past 5 years or so.

Of course, the last link doesn't work anymore as it was taken on the old website.
Maybe some devs had a phase 2 in mind at this time but it doesn't exist any longer.
