Differentiate between lair and lair

It's awkward that you have lairs inside your lair. Rename the chamber, please?

Hah! I always think that same thing when I'm trying to describe that first T2 lair chamber in Vyra's lair in RPs. Though I'm not sure what I'd use as a replacement. Cavern seems pretty good.

Personaly I like cavern, but since we also have chambers like a hall, maybe something in the line of Resting Cavern/Chamber or Sleeping Cavern/Chamber would be good enough.

I agree with this idea wholeheartedly, but as an Anne McCaffrey fan, I would respectfully suggest renaming the room to 'weyr'

I saw the subject of this thread and was wondering what the big deal about liars was. Then, I looked closer and noticed l-a-i-r-s.

As for renaming them, I like "den" (an den? an den?). "Weyr" seems to be very specific to the Pern universe and thus probably something we should stay away from. Most everyone knows what a den is.

I always thought the lair entrance and plot associated with it should be called a "dragon hole", which would eliminate the confusion, but I suppose such naming could be misinterpreted.

Could rename them labyrinths. Because that's what they are.

A-maze-ing, that's what I find them! We need maps for them, like a mural that shows the lair layout.
hee hee, i just got an image in my head of a crudely drawn map for a mural, showing things like "gnome trap" and "hoard pile"

A weyr is where a dragon lives. I'd say a lair is a chamber in a weyr.

Of course a Weyr is a big caldera bowl that houses lots of dragons.

I'm for "den" - I think its better than "sleeping lair" as that seems awkward. And "den" still implies everything the room could be.

I also am against "weyr", not only because it is referring to a large group of community lairs, but also because using the term could get us in trouble...

Lots of great suggestions here, and for what it's worth, I'll agree that a name change should be considered. I've actually confused a couple of folks during conversations because of the similarity.

I always refer to the lair chambers as dens anyway, so, my vote's in for 'Den'.
