Since I've got that funny granny player program it's become an occassional habit to scroll through and watch animations from HZ but, just today I was looking at the humans' animations and uhm...

...why are they animated to shoot guns? o.o

I can't say for sure, but I expect the answer is that someone back in the day bought a commercial collection of animation actions and did some kind of batch set-up to tie them to the human skeleton, then went through them and decided which ones they wanted in the game. The rest are still there but unused.

I've done the same sort of thing with .bvh motion capture files in Poser.

plus the crossbow attack does look to me like a combo of drawing a bow and shooting a gun - i have always rather liked it, myself.......

yeap - apparently no one takes up the xbowman class anymore - but i love my xbow almost as much as opener!
