5,10 cross; 1 returns (15 mins so far)
2,1 cross (17 mins total)

You are never again allowed to participate in riddles
I would have loved to see the others try at it for a little longer.
Another combination could be:
1,2 cross - 1 returns (3min.)
5,10 cross - 2 returns (15 min.)
1,2 cross - (17 min. total.)

Sorry Rvlion, I was just teasing about the "rule changing" that I posted earlier. I apologize that didn't come across clearly earlier.

I just never seem to be able to "think outside the box" in the right way to solve these.

To be honest, neither do I... It is actually quite an old riddle. Learned about it about 18 months ago, but kinda forgot that I had it and worse I had forgotten the answer as well.
Many people complained about loud noises that evening... Since I couldn't post it unless I myself had the correct answer.

Good job steelclaw My brain can finally go to rest...I think it was wearing down on me seeing as I woke up today and it was nearly 12:30pm Okay maybe it wasn't all that ^_^
