Looted them just fine on Chaos shard hunting thornwood treants. Breath of Acid is a nice attack.

Worked fine for me last week. Not every treant will drop the logs, you'll have to kill enough to get the 50 logs.

So long as you are doing the quest, you can loot the logs.

I wonder if this is a bug specific to me, since after killing nigh three dozen of them i have yet to see a single log ><
