Urgent Help Needed

I can't gather copper and I really am unable to find out how
I feel so stupid rofl.
I'm on quest three or sometihng and it says it won't let me gather with the current equipped item
what do I do?

Is your currently equipped item a mining pick? (you use that to mine copper)

Or are you a dragon? Then you have to activate the mining ability.

In the character window you can find your abilities, drag them to a open quick launch button and click that button to activate the ability.

I might make a suggestion to the devs to improve this sort of message to suggest equipping the specific tool or ability needed to harvest that particular item.

what are you doing when you try to gather?

if you are a ped, do you have the correct mining pick for your level (i presume a training one)?
if you are a hatchie, are you selecting your mining ability?
as sigi sez, you should hotkey your abilities asap, saves having to search your character pages for them all the time!


right, call, at least for newbies in game. the whole crafting things was very confusing at first - even for mw - after i had been playing vel for a while and thought i know how the crafting system worx - i just couldn't understand what the trainers were telling me.....so long ago, i can't remember exactly what they told me i couldn't grasp, but i do remember having to constantly ask how to do something.....
