    Ooooh, another gorgeous work!

The dryad statues captivated my eyes, especially the large figure. I love the mossy look all over them. The vines on the trees are great too, a nice contrast to the stark black & white of the birches.

One thought struck me, that the trees look like very straight and smooth to me... it might be neat to have a bulge here or bend there in a couple of them.

The wildflowers growing up between the stones add a terrific touch to the scene as well. Just curious, why not include one of your dryad characters in it, checking out the statues closely?

Thank you for sharing another beautiful picture with us!

ooh awesome shot...she feels so sad to me..maybe its the dark colors (and maybe that was meant to feel sad..)

Looks very statueesque too with the green and whites!

it reminds me of my childhood:
My parents and me once explored the Black Forest.
There- on a small clearance, we found a place like that.

Thank you everyone for the terrific feedback. Life has been hectic (traveling and renovations). Hopefully I will get back to the "full swing" of things soon.

The trees were suppose to be young birch trees which are mostly smooth. I probably should have paid more attention to the bump maps The scene was inspired by two things: the birch-wood forest in Acadia National Park (by Sand Beach) as well as old Japanese forest shrines. I thought about adding a character to the scene, but I was really going for the solace, saddeness of the shrine being forgotten and unkempt.

Yes, I wanted it sad but with a glimmer of hope as the sun-beam tickles the magic orb emanating from the primary statue.

    * smiles * If you can send me information about the Black Forest, I will add it to my bucket-list .

I seem to gravitate to greens No surprise since it is my favorite color. One of the hard things about different greens (or any other color) is to keep the natural by not over-saturating them too much.
