Hello, I wanted to ask, may I post LungTien's arrival for the beginning of the attack? I'd say he arrived from the south of Chiconis and stayed away from the other roleplayers' dragons until the end of the second wave?)

(Well, there is a long post in which I put everything from the beginning to the current battle's situation... I hope it won't be contradictory with other roleplayers' posts, and that I did well enough...)

    RP ON -

The black ancient dragon was working on his golem, on the Granitefall mountains, just at the south of Chiconis. From his spot, he could see the whole town from above.

He had gone back on this experiment, after the raid in Maurger’s lair. Now aware of the ooze’s weakness against fire, LungTien Temeraire turned the dragon-like construct into a sort of lava golem, with blazing mouth and forepaws. Though the fire wasn’t burning the ground around the golem’s feet, none could deny it was looking very hot and dangerous. The golem was obeying to his master’s thoughs, through a magical link between them. This way, the dragon could focus on the situation and give quick and silent orders. Temeraire eyes the marble rocks on the construct’s back, looking thoughful.

« Hmmm… I should maybe… » But LungTien’s thoughs fade when he hears odds and uncommon noises coming from Helian dragons’s town. Peering towards Chiconis, he notices an army of golem attacking the town, and dragons rising to defend it. An army of golems attacking a dragon’s town ? Temeraire didn’t remember of the Aegis sending such troops against any town.

Anyway, he took the air while his golem started to run, quicker than its shape could let one thinks. Darting as fast as possible in the aggressors’ direction, LungTien hoped his ‘‘bunch of rocks’’ », as he called his golem, was going to prove being worthy of the time and efforts his master had spent building and working on it. Soon, the black Helian realized the enemy golems at the front had baboon-like shapes, and noticed the odd robe covering the ones behind them. Then, he saw their gray eyes.

So, Maurger was behind this attack. Growling in anger, LungTien stopped above the nearest golems, near the bridge who leads to the floating rooms, and breathing a large cloud of ice towards them to damage their rock-made bodies. The spellcaster would stay behind, weakening the golems’ armor, while his ‘‘bunch of rocks’’ would target the ooze with its burning claws and mouth.

The three nearest golem grunts, which were going to go through the bridge, were taken aback by the sudden attack. The cloud of ice tore their rocky bodies into small pieces who fell on the ground, leaving LungTien’s own golem to bounce on whatremained of them and burn the revealed ooze. Asother enemies started to throw rocks on him, the black ancient swiftly landed under his construct in order to use it as a physical shield.A group of golem wizards casted dark prime bolts towards the two newcomers, but the Helian dragon was ready and countered them and dispelled the bolts before they could reach their targets.

Then, the « bunch of rock » threw itself on a wizard, crushing and burning it under its large shape. The others wizards attempted to reach Temeraire with ooze vines, but the dragon leapt in the air, breathing fire on the goo and burning it. It left only minor burns, quickly healed with a breeze. Landing again, LungTien destroyed the second wizard with a blazing fire bolt, while his personal golem took the third on with really hot scratches and bite.

As more grunts and wizards moved towards him, Temeraire waved his blue-glowing forepaws, casting an icy breeze which weakened the closest Edari grunts’ rocks. The « bunch of rock », larger and as tall than its opponents, smashed them with his hard and heavy limbs, head and shoulders, before to finish them off. The wizards attempted to use their ooze and bolts on the dragon-like golem, but its master protected it with his own spells and fire. The flames briefly covered the marble-made body, not really affecting it that much.

As the master and the marble golem were stepping towards the wizards, the second Edari wave appeared. LungTien had managed, until now, to prevent the Edari to reach the flating rooms. Temeraire saw the mage golems retreat a bit, while odd end new Edari appeared in front of him.

Some were biped-like golems, waving wicked blades at the tip of ooze-made arms, and the others were like a big eye surrounded by moving plates. The ancient spellcaster threw his icy breath towards these eyes, but they just moved their rock plates behind their ooze core,, stopping most of the breath and barely damaged. Then, the dragon felt his forces slowly fading under a spell from the mage golems. He sturggled to counter and block them, and decided to send his rocky protector on the new enemies. LungTien gritted his teeth. This was getting harder and harder.

The « bunch of rocks » smashed the enemies in front of them, percing their ranks and lying down allowing the black dragon to breathe a new cloud of ice on the floating eyes, who had put their plates in front of them to protect themselves and their biped-like allies against the blazing marble golem. This last one stood up and swiftly hit the opponents around it, burning the biped-like golems and their guards, which just lost their plates. But LungTien couldn’t fully protect his marble construct, and some swords damaged it, slashing and piercing through its rocky body.

A biped golem darted towards the ancient, now that the « bunch of rock » was busy and had left a free way towards the spellcaster. The black ancient managed to stop it with a powerful fire bolt before the swords could hit him. But Temeraire, starting to feel a bit tired, didn’t see a grunt who climbed through the cliff at the left of the bridge, and he turned his head back towards his damaged protector just to be hit by a huge obsidian forearm. The shock threw him on his back, and the trouble left his golem alone and surronded by a growing number of Edari.

The grunt tried to pierce Temeraire’s neck with his sharpened talons, but the dragon recovered quickly and blocked the attack with his hindlegs. The golem attempted to raise its other forearm but the ancient threw it a bit away by pushing with his limbs. Then, LungTien casted a big firebolt which went through its target and burned the ooze, leaving some rocks rumble around. Sadly, this moment was enough to allow the other Edari to finally overwhelm the poor « bunch of rock », leaving it in steaming rock pieces.

LungTien stood up, only to see a worrying number of Edari grunts, bipeds and eyes advancing on him.
« Hmmm… that is getting a bit too dangerous there… », LungTien said while taking his flight hastily. Several golems darted towards him, while others threw rocks, bolts and ooze vines towards Temeraire in order to stop him. But the Helian dragon managed to block them with a flame burst, then he flew out of range, lowly panting. He hoped that no dragon was still inside the floating rooms as the Edari were now running into it. They were so many…

Temeraire blinked as he suddenly saw a sort of magic hole suddenly appear and engulf the entire floating rooms, before to disappear with them, leaving only air where the rooms once stood. Then, he gasped as another made the bridge crumble.
LungTien flew in circles above the city, out of the Edari’s attacks ranges, and turned his head around in anxiety, hoping to see some dragons still alive in sight. He’d think about his « bunch of rocks » later.

((well since they're mounted now, she won't go tackle them in an all out attack - but perhaps she can keep them busy and others can help take them out as well...we'll see how this goes..a little vague as I'm not quite sure on those defenses/attacks - but anyone who jumps in at her cry feel free to get more detailed, and finish anytyhing off... )

Frith-rae determindly kept up her position near the travel gate, defending it against all comers as best as she could. She was starting to get a little worried though, she had noted a few dragons had trickled in to join the battle but she was starting to get nervous that this would not be enough.

Even though the call was not directed to her, she heard Tagath's call to arms. She took heart, and doubled her efforts at defending her portal. Tagath had called others, surely many would answer!

And she felt another surge of energy as Semeneth's roar sounded from above. She took heart as the Helian leader arrived, knowing more reinforcements would arrive with him. She wondered where Valkoth could be, why was he not here. She knew that despite their philosophical differences, he would not stand by and let Chiconis fall.

The question caused a chill to course down her spine - was Dralk under attack as well?

She called out a greeting to Ausixen as he landed next to her and joined in the killing. Though he soon took to the air again, and then she heard a crack. She spared a moment to look behind her, to see the bridge to the floating lairs breaking apart. And the floating lairs were gone! She'd hoped that was a defense, and not a loss. Her battle-rage flared, furious that such destruction was being committed against *her* beloved home.

As the grass began to wilt at her feet she screeched a challenge and a warning to other dragons, in the hopes that she would have at least a few at her back for what she was about to do.

The apparent leader, that khutit blasphemy now mounted on some wierd almost dragon looking golem, had its back to her. She took the opportunity and hoped that it wasnt' able to sap her Gifted nature away from her in such an attack.

As soon as her challenge and alert was made she launched herself into the air directly onto the back of the golumn and mounted Edari-khutit. Summoning her golden shield and spiked scales, she surrounded herself in as much defense as she could upon landing on the stone-dragon's back. Clawing and fighting to stay upright, tail swinging to keep balance, she attacked the back of the Edari-khutit even as her talons gouged into the stoney plates of its mount.

Fire and ice spewed out of her mouth in turns as she dodged her head in and out, biting at what she could while keeping behind the Khutit who had yet to be able to turn himself around to deal with her with his full abilities.

She felt her sheild wall and spikes, up to now returning the damage the Khutit was giving her, fading. She knew that once they fell, she'd be vulnerable to the general. Even more so if he was able to turn around fully.

Still digging into the mount with her back claws, she continued to swipe with her front at the Khutit. She could tell she was injuring him, but she had no idea how much. As black ooze appeared, she quickly fired it into vapor.

And she gave a last rally call in her mind to the dragons she knew were around her, "Could use some help up here!"

She hoped for a response, else she'd have to try and quickly extricate herself from this pair. She readied her energy for a leap, just in case.

The Helian dragon had used his flight to recover a bit from his first fight, and was now ready for a new showdown. LungTien finally noticed some dragons around the travel gate, and he sighed in relief. But they seemed in need of support, so he dived towards them. The black dragon recognized Frith-Rae, as well as Semeneth and a few others. Landing at the top of the travel gate while turning into a khutit, Temeraire saw Frith-Rae was struggling against a though-looking opponent, and he casted healing spells, as well as gifts on her. Then, he roared:
    - Regrouping, everyone! They musnt't destry the gate!
Peering at a dragon who was looking tired and hurt, he continued, pointing at this one:
-You, go and get help! we need reinforcements!
LungTien wasn't sure if that task had already been, or was being done, so he preferred to be sure. After that, from the top of the portal, he started to cast powerful prime and fire bolts and throw them towards the nearest targets at a fast range, thanks to his great mastery of primal magic and spells. Casting and throwing spells, for him, were definitely easier tasks than fighting physically in melee.

Raining down death on the black-goo invaders from above the bridge to the now-missing island, she noticed dragons struggling against fiercer foes. Turning her aim to assist against the apparent leader, she launched an arrow seeking for its heart. Though golems have no heart, it did significant damage, and the follow-up volleys kept it stunned and unable to act while the dragon atop it clawed as fiercely as ever a dragon did. She cried out her support to the dragon: "go frith-rae!"

Default The War of the Fallen Son

“Master, we are under attack!” the Khutit-Edari of Chiconis cried out into the ooze of his very being. He struggled against his attackers.

Viewing the battle from the air was a dragon figure, watching how the Khutit-Edari writhed. It landed quietly behind the lines of the Edari, sneaking up slowly, as if it had intended to help. As it stood beside the next wave, however, it became obvious that this was no natural dragon.

It spoke. “Lord Maurger, surely it is time to show the perfection of your army and of our great Edari race. I am afraid that taking the citadel of Chiconis will be impossible. It has either been moved or destroyed by powerful forces. We should move on to the final phase.” The final general of Chiconis spoke, his ancient, diamond eyes blackened by his communication. His stone body was ancient in shape and form, and held no joints, but when he moved it was as if the stone was flesh, as it could bend and did not break.

Maurger’s voice channeled through the eyes of the Edari-Ancient. “I am surprised at the amount of resistance at the Helian capital, but it will make victory all the sweeter. However, such resistant dragons may not be ready for Desha Treskri. You have my permission to move forward. Take the Wurms, and kill any who refuses the mercy of my love. And cut the head from the dragon. Valkoth and Semeneth must die.”

“It will be as you wish, my lord. Are you ready?” the Ancient asked of his elder.

“I am on my way to the target,” Maurger replied. With the fading of his voice, the blackness behind the diamonds reduced and the Edari-Ancient examined his near-perfect brethren.

The Edari-Ancient walked out in front of his troops and faced them. “Long have the dragons lorded over the earth, believing themselves safe and superior to the very dirt from which we were born, our common ancestor! They grew wings and took the sky as their domain. We shall replace our cousins! But to do this, you must become whole. Shed the title of Wurm, my brethren! Join your brothers and become complete at last, Edari Dragons! Today, we will not fall back to the earth! We shall take it and the sky, and at last rise to our rightful place! This is the will of our lord! Go forth, and let none who resist our dawn survive!”

A roar went up through the crowd of wingless stone-flesh dragons. It was like the ground itself called to the defenders of Chiconis and Dralk and said: we will not fail.

Semeneth was swearing. “What the hell happened to my city?!”

“It could be worse, Elder. At least the enemy didn’t get it,” Ausixen tried.

The elder sighed and looked over the defending forces. Many Gifted had come to fight now and they had turned the tides against the enemy. The ground of Chiconis was recovering from the hellish attacks of the now slain wizards, but the orb-creatures and their sword-wielding partners had been largely undefeatable. Many dragons of the area now lay bleeding on the ground. Frall couldn’t keep up and Lomak had been sent to Dralk.

Then he heard the roar. His eyes looked to the hillside once more and saw them standing there. His heart risked hope – a foolish endeavor. These were not reinforcements from Dralk. These creatures were made of stone and had no wings. Their claws were tipped in metal and dressed for war. Their cyclopean eyes were made of many colors of gemstone, each a darkened version of itself.

“Great Lord Drulkar… is there no end to the monstrosities this dragon has created?” Semeneth despaired.

The Wurms began to charge into the lines of dragons and Gifted that defended the city valiantly. Where they met their Sword and Shield brethren, they combined in some way, the stone plates of the Shield becoming wings, the ooze arms of the Sword adding to the armaments of the land-dragons. As the Edari-Dragons and Wurms crashed through the lines, defeat seemed almost inevitable through attrition and soul splintering.

The travel gate flared. Stepping from it was a regiment of sixty soldiers from Tazoon itself. The myriad races of the Imperial Army stood ready for battle and were led by the Captain of the Guard himself. He quickly approached Semeneth as his soldiers followed him, working in tandem to take down Swords and Shields alike.

“Captain Aaron Legendweaver of the Imperial Guard. We have heard your request for help and we have come!” the human exclaimed.

“Thank Drulkar! Please send a handful of your soldiers to Dralk as well. They are too proud to ask for help, but they may yet need it. The bulk of your forces are needed here!” Semeneth directed. The captain made the arrangements and sent a handful of his troops back through the gate.

Jasinda joined him at his side, pushing up the small glasses on her gnomish face. “I see you decided to lead the force yourself.”

“Well, I couldn’t stand by while another Torrin attempted his rise to power,” Aaron said. She smiled and prepared her most powerful spells.

The division sent to Dralk arrived to find the city in a worse state. Valkoth was bleeding heavily near the entrance to the citadel, being tended to by Lomak. Lava steamed as it consumed blood and black ooze alike. The travel gate had been damaged in the attack and sputtered. It seemed this was a one-way trip for the Imperial Division. The Swords and Shields had utterly decimated the rear line, and only an injured Maekrux stood beside the contingent of dragons making up the rear guard. The front had fared better, but the ground itself looked sick with the corruption of the black ooze.

The division leader came to Valkoth. “We were sent under Semeneth’s command to lend aid to you, Valkoth,” he said.

“Lunus will never need the aid of bipeds, Imperial soldier,” Valkoth said, trying to stand. He gave up at Lomak’s urging. Instead, he looked over to the travel gate. “However, seeing as the gate is broken and you are already here, feel free to join in the battle.” The captain of the division knew that was as close to asking for help as he was going to get, and so directed his forces to reinforce Maekrux and the other dragons of the rear front.

The roar of the Edari Wurms shook the battle below. This time, the dragons attacked from the front, reinforcing the Edari-Generals there and the many fallen grunts and wizards.

“The end has come for the Lunus! Push, my brothers, from both sides! We will crush them in the middle! Leave none who resist alive!” The Edari-Ancient declared as he flew down and landed at the rear with the Swords and Shields. The two sides began to approach at an unnerving pace. The room the dragons had to fight with grew smaller and smaller.

“We must strike back now! You two, with me!” Maekrux exclaimed, singling out two of the incoming bipeds. The battlemage and healer joined him as he led them into battle against the oncoming swords and shields. Grappling with the plates of the Shield, the battlemage sent waves of flame into the black-ooze core of the Shield. As it fell, the Sword spun rapidly, but the healer dispirited it, slowing it enough for Maekrux to tear off the black arms of the whirling creature without injuring himself. Following his lead, the other soldiers and dragons of the rear line began to push back against the Swords and Shields, slowly opening a path to the hellish Edari-Ancient, the screaming of the dead hatchlings inside the stone-flesh body of the general becoming clearer, louder, and more intense. Maekrux was unsure if he could take him alone.

Meanwhile, the front began to collapse. The corrupted ground itself rose against defenders there, dragon after dragon impaled by spikes of earth conjured by the powerful rage of the Edari Wurms. Spit like a roast, bleeding and in pain, the Lunus defenders suffered still more as the corrupting energies turned their powerful, hard scales into brittle, blackened mockeries of their former draconic gleam.

“Great Lord Drulkar, do not forsake your children now,” Valkoth prayed quietly before pushing away Lomak and pressing back into the battle at the front.

Default The War of the Fallen Son

    Battle Update
    Dralk

Defenders: Eidolen, Orribus, Azaraen, Selarth, Maekrux
    NPC Defenders: 63+20 biped defenders
Defender Status: Bottle-neck was maintained and the citadel was not breached. However, losses are heavier at Dralk due to fewer Gifted defenders and the pincer maneuver. Travel gate was damaged, and travel out of Dralk is not possible. It is still possible to teleport in, as the crystal pad has not yet been damaged.
Enemy Status: Front has weakened considerably, but the Vanguard has been mostly uninjured. Wave 1 and 2 Generals still live. The Ground remains Corrupted.

    Chiconis

Defenders: Seventhus, Frith-Rae, Ausixen, Callihan, LungTien, Awdz, Tagath, Azu, Asua, Murial … Daemonar is nearby. (whoa~ Shian and Xeffer are also defending here I believe, but have been unable to post)
    NPC Defenders: 36+40 biped defenders
Defender Status: Citadel is, uh. Gone? But not in enemy hands at least! >.>; Gifted have rallied in number and support is on the way!
Enemy Status: Front greatly reduced; most wizards are completely decimated. Ground Corrupters are dead. Wave 2 General still lives, but the Khutit has fallen (most likely - if Frith wants to finish him off, go ahead).

Default The War of the Fallen Son

WAVE 3 – The Final Gambit
TARGET – Kill Valkoth and Semeneth (Genocide)

    Leader: Edari-Ancient

Description: dragon in shape and form, and of the size of an ancient. Its stone body is hard as the rock from which it was forged, but it has become flesh-like due to the altering influence of the dark primal ooze, which runs through its body like blood. Its mighty stone wings are capable of flight on the Dark Primewind. Talons and teeth are made of blood-red travertine. Eyes are made of diamond, two on each side, but the black ooze behind them makes the dragon look like it has pupils. Horns of dragon bone are mounted into the Ancient’s crest, forged from the bones of dead hatchlings.

    Attacks:
Hellish Perfection: Edari Dragons have all abilities of normal dragons, except Gold Rage, using Rage of the Earth in place of it - see following ability.

Rage of the Earth – The earth itself favors the Edari, as the Edari are more directly forged from it than the modern day dragons. When striking as if by Gold Rage, the Wurm causes the ground to break apart and shoot spikes up out of the ground. They fall back to the earth if they do not hit their target. If the ground is Corrupted, this deals additional shadow damage and can infest if enough damage is taken.

Shield of Earth: The earth itself betrays the dragons. The Edari Dragon can call up the ground itself to surround it and take blows meant for it. If the ground is corrupted and the attack is melee, the attacker will take additional shadow damage.

Cries of the Fallen: Those in range of the Edari-Ancient can hear the screams of the trapped hatchling souls within the creature. In addition to the horrific emotional effects this may have, their screams for mercy cause imbalance as though the inner ear was punctured.

In his early experiments with the Edari years ago, Maurger used the souls of dead hatchlings in an effort to animate them. He later discovered that the creation of a new race was not as difficult as first thought. The oldest of them, however, were kept and hidden away, asleep, as a reminder. Now in war, they are his most terrifying and intelligent leaders.

    Unit: Edari Wurm (Land Dragon)

Description: quadrupedal and dragon like, with various carved heads. Eyes are made of gemstone, darkened by ooze behind them; there is one of them in the center of the dragon-head, making them cyclopean. They are wingless, and their tails are spiked, the tips of which are coated in cobalt. Teeth and claws are likewise coated in cobalt. There is no visible ooze, but the rock is deeply infused by it – so much so, that the rock moves like flesh, but is hard like stone. If the stone-flesh is penetrated, it will bleed the black ooze like blood.

    Attacks:
Almost Perfect – Wurms have access to all dragon abilities, including breath; however, the attacks are still based in Dark Primal (such a corrupting breath, dark primal energy, etc); they of course do not have flight and have an alternate version of Gold Rage – see following ability.

Evolution – The Wurm can merge with Sword and Shield Edari, reaching its final form. See the following entry. Evolution takes a round, so they will not tend to use this first in danger.

    Unit: Edari Evolution (Primordial Dragon)
Note: These Edari do not start on the field. They are formed by the Edari Wurms using their final ability. It is possible to prevent them from reaching this form, though some are sure to hit the field, especially in Chiconis.

Description: Wurm body, with the following adjustments: the shield has formed into wings, the ooze of which enters into the plates and makes them have the same stone-flesh properties of the Wurm. The Sword forms into row of spines down the back, while the ooze-arms attach to the sides of the Wurm, giving two pincers of Corrupted Steel with full range of motion. The face also breaks the gemstone eye in two and moves the pieces to the side of the face, giving them binocular vision.

    Attacks:
Hellish Perfection: Edari Dragons have all abilities of normal dragons, except Gold Rage, using Rage of the Earth in place of it.

Shield of Earth: The earth itself betrays the dragons. The Edari Dragon can call up the ground itself to surround it and take blows meant for it. If the ground is corrupted and the attack is melee, the attacker will take additional shadow damage.

Sword of the Fallen Son: The Edari Dragon has gained pincers of Corrupted Steel, of the same profile as the Edari Swords. They move of their own accord to protect the Edari Dragon, but they are as fragile as they are deadly.

Default The War of the Fallen Son

The battle and Chiconis was turning. With the addition of the Imperial Regiment and several Gifted, the enemy still within had been cut down and a front had at last formed on the hill, where they kept the Edari from pushing further. Ausixen was there on the line, biting into the stoneflesh neck of an Edari Dragon. Its deadly pincers stabbed into the Purple Phoenix’s side, causing him to fall back; still, he took the Wurm’s throat with him, the black ooze coating the grasses like dark blood. As he healed his bleeding sides, he cheered on his allies.

“Maurger is but one dragon, and a fallen one! He will be defeated! It is Drulkar’s will!”

The ground shook yet again. This was not the shake of an army, with thousands of feet rumbling like thunder through the canyons and hills. This was not like a quake, where the ground shook regularly. No, this was something else. Something monstrous.

    Shake.

    Shake.

As if a series of earthquakes were triggered, one after the other in a line, the shaking grew louder.

Shake. Over the mountain, the head became apparent. The hellish writhing head of stoneflesh tendrils and its piercing gray-calcite eye was only the start of this creature.

Shake. The mountain moved – no! That was the chest of the creature! As thick as the path itself!

Shake. How tall could this thing really be?

Shake. Standing now at the ridge of the hill, the titanic Edari glowered down upon the battlefield, massive tricuts in its flexing palms reflecting the light of the sun as it began to set.

The tricuts began to glow a contradictory dark light. The vivid black pointed at the line of the enemy. Screaming ensued and the less-disciplined troops fell back.

“Fall back! Fall back!” Semeneth called, and the line moved.

From the palms of the gargantuan Edari came a beam of dark light, tearing apart the hillside and a few hapless dragons and soldiers who had been caught in its blast. Those that were not torn apart by its force were burnt by its dark primal power. Those that survived the burning were horribly corrupted, their skin or scale browned and blackened, like an over-ripened fruit.

“What horror is unleashed!” Aaron exclaimed.

“I am Maurger, Lord of the Edari and soon to be Lord of the Dragons! I shall cast down Drulkar and set myself up for worship! The chance for a world born in peace was denied. Now in your blood shall a new race of dragon rise!” The Fallen Son’s voice emanated from within the Edari-Titan.

Default The War of the Fallen Son

    FINAL BOSS: Edari-Titan (Chiconis Only)

Description: towering over fifty feet into the air, this bipedal Edari is not sentient or separated from Maurger: the Fallen Son himself is its core. Its head is covered with tentacles of stone flesh, surrounding a calcite eye. Its fists are the size of an ancient and the ground shakes where it walks. There are no ooze joints; the entire form is stone-flesh. Inside each palm are the largest tricuts of flawless quality. They are lighted from behind by the burning hatred and power of the Fallen Son.

    Attacks:
The Darklight – From the tricuts in the Titan’s hand come beams of black energy: concentrated Dark Prime. Force, burning, and last corruption are the effects of the beam, which can tear apart the land.

Stoneflesh Strangulation – Flying targets should avoid the head of the Titan, for the stoneflesh tentacles can stretch further than initially apparent to grab and tear apart the unwitting victims who dare tempt the Titan with flight.

Unquenchable Hate of the Fallen Son – Turning the tricuts inward, the Titan can create a swirling maelstrom of Dark Prime around himself. Dark, shadowy winds filled with daggers, skulls, and screams of shadowy energy spin wildly around him. The maelstrom can cause damage to the Titan itself. After a time, he moves it outwards in a predictable circle to dissipate. He cannot use this attack often due to its power drain and danger to himself.

Armor of the Fallen Son: For all intents and purposes, the Titan is the armor of Maurger and has no will of its own. It will take some excessive damage and a coordinated effort to bring down, due to its size and strength. Maurger controls everything about the Titan, from movement to attacks to target acquisition.

**** This means that the Titan will be done Blow-for-Blow, unlike the other Edari ****

Blow-for-blow means that I’ll be posting up reactions to what is happening to the Titan and when it falls, etc. Please direct all hits against the Titan with open-ended posts.

ie, Ausixen throws a ball of Prime at the Titan, preparing to move if he misses.
The Titan dodges with unexpected grace and throws a fist at the dragon!

    The post can, and probably should be, longer than the example, but you get the idea. Some close-ended posts may occur, especially if you work together with other posts, but that is okay. He is kinda hard to miss. >.>;

Default The War of the Fallen Son

Ausixen looked to his talon, which burned in righteous indignation and the fury of his god. The Soulflame Nail longed to be used against the demon it had been created to kill. He looked to the army around him. The dragons and soldiers were visibly shaken by the mere presence of so massive an enemy. Semeneth and Aaron did all they could to maintain discipline and order as the Edari Wurms and Dragons rushed through the huge trench created by the Titan’s attack.

“Semeneth! Captain! We must cut a path for the Gifted to reach the Titan! We are the only ones who may be able to bring the creature down!” Ausixen shouted.

“You are as bold as your grandfather, Ausixen. Gifted! I beg, you, come together and defeat that monster!” Semeneth implored.

“Soldiers, follow me! We shall tear into their ranks and be safe from the Titan among the enemy!” Aaron exclaimed, rallying his forces and charging them into the trench. Fighting fiercely, the soldiers were reinforced by the dragons as the Titan laughed wildly at the edge of the battle.

Ausixen pushed into the gap they had created, only to come face to face with the Edari-Ancient. The screams of the dead hatchlings seemed palpable, even visible on the stoneflesh of the creature.

“If you wish to reach my Lord and Father, heathen, you will have to get through me,” the Edari-Ancient said.

“I am the Champion of Drulkar! I will not be defeated by a talking rock worshiping a false idol!” Ausixen exclaimed, swinging his claw forward. He thought for sure he would hit the general, but as he drew near, his balance was off, and the General stepped to the side.

The Edari-Ancient tail-whipped Ausixen across the face. “You shall never live up to your name, Ausixen. Master Maurger will decorate me for slaying his greatest enemy!”

Ausixen looked back with a bleeding grin. “We shall see about that!” He leapt forward, grappling with the Edari-Ancient, but he would need help to best the General.

Catching sight of the advancing Edari-Titan, Awdz's eyes widen. Quickly she drinks potions to enhance her abilities, thanking Istara she had gotten an elevated position early.
Moving into a better position to attack, she begins working her stunning arrows on the approaching Edari-Titan, checking to see if it can be stunned. She also tries different spells to see which type of attack - nature, fire, ice, energy - that she can send with each arrow does the most damage.
As she fires, she sends a mental call once again to all that she knows: Chiconis is being invaded by something fifty feet tall and with a personal vendetta against the dragons here, leading an army of black energies that is not Blight. Come help!

The Titan holds back from the main battlefield; Maurger has no desire to kill his Edari creations. The few arrows that reach seem to deal the same amount of damage; it is like striking against a mountainside. Stunning appears to have no effect, but it is currently not moving anyway.

Ausixen still struggles against the Edari-Ancient, the only thing blocking the path for the ground-bound Gifted to reach the Titan.

Callihan fought viciously tearing through the ranks of the Edari golems. His white and yellow hide was covered in dirt, his own blood, and bruises. He was quickly tiring, his whole body wracked with pain from the terrible blows of his enemies. The corruption of the area around the city had taken its toll on Callihan depriving him further of strength. However, Callihan fought with an unmatchable determination. The whole world would have to come down on him before he even thought about giving up.

An Edari Sword came streaming past Callihan, it’s blades slashing outward to carve into the drake’s flank. Callihan quickly leapt out of the way and retaliated with a fiery blast from his jaws. The black tar that its arms were comprised of boiled and hissed from the intense heat. Callihan leapt and slashed down the Sword’s back with a devastating gold rage. The Edari screamed as it fell.

Callihan whirled around panting heavily, a battle rage glowing in his eyes as he searched for his next opponent. He wasn’t going to give up his home without a fight. However his eyes widened with horror as a fresh wave of Edari began pouring into the city bolstering the numbers of the previous. How could they possibly fight against all of them?! He caught flashes of the other defenders valiantly fighting against the Edari. Callihan had no time for doubt to enter his mind. He had to keep fighting no matter what. He wasn’t going to let Maurger and his abominations rule.

With a savage roar Callihan charged into the fray. He caught sight of the Edari Boulder, the second wave’s leader. If he could managed to take it down then that would hopefully deal the Edari a good blow. Callihan lunged at the Boulder while its attention was elsewhere and landed atop the golem’s back. Callihan dug in with his claws and blasted the golem’s head with a powerful blast of flames. The golem reared up and tried to pry Callihan from its back but the dragon jumped off and slashed out with claws blazing gold. The golem swung at Callihan with its massive fist smacking him clear across the head. Callihan landed on the grounds sprawled out and dazed. The Boulder wasted no time in trying to smash Callihan into a bloody pulp. However Callihan rolled himself out of the way of the massive fists. The Boulder reared up to slash at Callihan with its claws and Callihan took the opportunity to slash the golem across its middle with a gold rage shredding through its underside. The Edari Boulder gave a shriek and lashed out at Callihan but it missed. Callihan kept up a hit-and-run tactic to keep out of the golem’s reach. The thing about golems is that they weren’t particularly fast especially with all of that armor.

Callihan slashed at the Boulder over and over again striking with his gold rage. The Boulder wasn’t happy at all about it’s predicament with this flighty drake. With an angry roar the Boulder charges Callihan and once it built up enough momentum, curled up into a ball and tried to run him over. Callihan’s eyes widened and he quickly took to the air, the Boulder running over some of its own troops in the process. Callihan soared up higher and higher trying to figure out a new plan of attack. However something else caught Callihan’s attention.

A series of rumbles began shaking the land below with the steps of some enormous beast. Callihan whipped his head around searching for the source. An icy grip of fear clamped around him as he saw the behemoth of a golem cresting the mountain. For a moment his unshakable determination melted away a wave of despair washing over him.

“Drulkar help us.” Callihan had no idea what to do. What could they do? With this... this... mountain of a golem, how could they possibly win? Callihan shook his head immediately ashamed for faltering for even a second. No, the defenders were managing against the army, they were even able to push the back and form a line. They would be to take down Maurger, they had to, there was no other option.

As he hovered in the air, Callihan summoned a healing breeze steeling himself. Callihan heard Semeneth’s cry and dived down to help clear a path to the Titan. With renewed vigor, Callihan pushed himself even further fighting past the pain. He caught a glimpse of purple grappling with what looked to be a stone ancient dragon. Callihan rushed past the golems and Gifted fighting to reach Ausixen and the Edari ancient.

With his remaining strength, Callihan bolts towards the Ancient and tries to tackle it while its attention was on Ausixen. He unleashes a blast of fire from his jaws as he closes the distance between him and the Edari.

Selarth watches the fight from a high cliff, his wounds nearly healed. He grits his teeth as another wave begins pummeling the defenders of Dralk. He still had no idea about this enemy, what they wanted or where they came from. As he surveyed the area he could feel something strange. Since he was so far away the curse the wizards were weaving didn’t affect him as much as those fighting below, but his energy was still being slowly sapped away. His blood red eyes searched around for the source of the curse and he spotted the group of Edari wizards.

His claws clenched the stone beneath him and he planned his next course of action. Within seconds he was falling over the edge of the cliff dropping into a dive before snapping his wings open and speeding towards the wizards. He dropped down in the midst of them his spots flaring up violently as he summoned his blight. Selarth channeled the destructive energy into the ground around him spreading the blight and spawning massive blight thorns from the ground. The wizards scattered trying to escape the thorny vines trying to wrap around them.

Selarth quickly took advantage of the confusion he caused and began to pick off the wizards one by one as they tried to escape and regroup. They hurled dark bolts at him which struck him in the wings and back, but the brunt of their attacks were absorbed by Selarth’s gold shield. The blight dragon roared savagely as he tore at the wizards and dismembered them with powerful slashes of his claws. They retaliated with their dark ooze, but the blight aura around Selarth was so thick, the ooze barely had time to do anything before it was broken down. However, Selarth’s energy reserves were quickly draining. He couldn’t keep this up for very long.

Selarth let up on his blight now that the wizards were properly disrupted and reverted back to using his claws. Hopefully the curse will quickly lift.

With that done Selarth launched himself into the air again and dove down to rejoin the fray against the main army. These new Edari were dragon-like in design. That made fighting them perhaps a little easier since their build was much more familiar to Selarth. They even had many of the same attacks. The blight dragon charged the horde of Edari golems claws blazing with gold, eyes blazing with fury.

Tagath nodded acceptance of the healing from some direction as he whirled and writhed, pushing the limits of his strength in the deadly dance of tooth and claw and primal spells he unleashed at any and every foe near him. The citadel's disappearence registerred only as a bit of information to study further once the battle was over. Rock was rock. Attacking rock was volunteering to be stone slabs. And the Demon Claw was doing a fine job.

As the earth shook and the screams and shouts suddenly cascaded to Tagath's ears, he turned to see a mountain move. Hearing the call for the Gifted to advance, he made a final whirling swipe at all boulders, swords, and intervening Edari before making for the moving mountain. Instead, his path was distracted. A sword golem and a shield golem attached themselves to a new tunnel snake golem, making a new dragon golem. This could not bode well. Even though all needed to fight the mountain, the lesser forces could do more damage if ignored.

Tagath changed his angle and dropped atop the new dragon golem. These must not be allowed to advance or non-gifted forces would be crushed. He looked to the north. Yes, the obsidian firepits would work. That is where he would go. He grabbed the hardened wings of the dragon golem from behind and went between. The few seconds of intense cold would stop the ooze. He must go to the firepit. Tagath popped out of between perfectly, the large, gentle lavapit open and receptive. The golem was far too frozen to be able to resist as Tagath dropped it into the lava. In a few moments, the golem began to melt away from the heat of the lava as it reclaimed the elements for new rock.

Tagath flew over Dralk. He kept watch for the merged wurm golems. As they formed and the wings hardened for flight, Tagath dove once again from behind, grabbed the newly hardened wingjoints, soared aloft and between for several seconds, and dropped them in the lavapool, watching until the bodies were fully reclaimed.

Tagath repeated the drill over both Dralk and Chiconis, keeping the wurms at bay, with no time for them to give warning before they were snatched, frozen, then melted.

LungTien was casting healing spells on the dragons and bipeds who were around him, and throwing bolts towards the Edari. The black khutit was relieved when he saw all of these bipeds appearing from the portal behind his feet to bring reinforcements. He hoped the same happened to Dralk, as the Lunus city was surely under attack too.

Then, the Edari-ancients came under his gaze, and Temeraire froze shortly. Was this cursed army never going to end? As these new opponents approached the defenders, the dragon prepared himself to strike them. His focus, then, was cut by a distant but heavy "thump".

The khutit held his position, thinking it was surely coming from the battle, but then another "thump" followed, and another again. They were becoming louder and the ground started to shake at each time. LungTien kept a blue-glowing forepaw; looking for the source of these "thumps" while the Edari-dragons started their attacks, and he notices the one of the mountain around Chiconis, who was moving.

-Wait, why is that mountain collap...
Temeraire suddenly noticed that wasn't a mountain, but a golem, who was appearing from behind the mountain, and that one was... huge. The khutit's eyes widened like they never did before, and he stayed there, with his hanging mouth, for a few seconds, stunned by the sight.

When a new "thump" made him fall from the top of the shaken portal, LungTien recovered his mind quickly enough to fall on his feet. After Maurger's speech, the black khutit took his ancient form back, eyeing the titan with a growing determined gaze. So, this black worm was inside this titanic golem, and was controlling his army from there...

The dragon growled in anger when the titan used its dark beam, slaughtering many living beings. He'd have to stay far enough from this opponent.
Temeraire saw the non-gifted pierce a breach through the Edari's ranks, in order to allow the Gifted to strike the heart of the enemy horde. Taking his flight, he darted towards Maurger's construct, planning to throw his most powerful spells at the big golem from a long range, and avoid its heavy fists and whatever it could throw at the Gifted.

The black spellcaster was beginning to pant, but he wouldn't rest before that villainy was ended, and before Maurger was punished for it. He was ready to use all of his remaining power and strength, and to give his life, for Chiconis, for Helian, for the dragonkind, for all of the living beings, and most important of all, for his family.
