Thread: Request - Blighted sky effects

Default Request - Blighted sky effects

Anyone savy with the game files know how I might be able to delete or turn off the green fog encountered in the deadlands and the thunder sound too? I know you can turn off the whole sky effects but I just don't like the deadlands effect.

I haven't used it for a long time but I think typing this command does this.

    /setpref environmentSystem false

    A relog may be required.

If I remember right that turns off the whole sky basically - I'm fiddling with some of the files now that look like they might be specific to the blighted areas - will report any findings.

    Cheers,

I have found out how to turn off the sky just specifically in the blighted areas. It can be done be deleting or renaming to temp certain file(s).

The lightning / thunder effect can be turned off as well, but I haven't been able to turn off the green fog which is really the main thing I was trying to get rid of.

More to follow if I come up with something that could be considered a usable "Mod"

if you want the blighted area to have a clear sky, just go to your,

    Istaria\resources\definitions\regions

back up all the files with undead in their name in that folder then open the default region file copy the text within and paste into the undead files

Isn't this a weird thing to do in a game where we are supposed to fight the blight?

    Hurray! Mor

Ok, thanks to Blue's help and some Tinkering here is what I came up with.

    removing resources\entities\effects env_lightning_green.ent

turns off the lightning - I tried to just put a dummy file in the same resources_overide path but it didn't work.

I may play more with this but what I've done now is basically just turn the fog down quite a bit.

    resources\definitions\regions

and set the fog values in the following files
    region_undeadbasic
    region_undeadsimple
    region_undeadsimple_music_rain
    region_darkgreen

Trying to put a screenshot in let's hope it works

Ya know, if blue fog will work, there is light blue fog on the Peak of Storms that you might take a look at.

I know this is COMPLETELY contradictory to the point of this thread, but...

Is there a way to have that rain and fog and sky stretch through the whole game?

    Cause that would be amaaaazing.
