New player looking for a few answers

I've tried looking around a bit but I can't seem to locate a complete(ish) guide to this game, can anyone help me out? I am particularly interested in the crafting professions and how they work and possibly dabbling in a bit of combat for more resources (I am a complete noob, don't kill me if I said something stupid :-S ).

I'm not entirely sure that something that could be called a "complete guide" exists for this game, but I do know that http://www.crimson-dawn.org/ has hard data on all the available schools, as well as an unofficial user's manual for the game that might be helpful.
