Thread: Clothesline with Sheet

  1. #1

    Default Clothesline with Sheet

Give me a game full of real life's mundane things
Give me the ability to pluck a Dryad's wings
Give me hordes of undead with nothing to loot
Give me Daknor in New Trismus just for a hoot
Give me a cow sized lizard that thinks it's a kitten
Give me a chain mail bikini to wear with mittens
Give me lag inducing fluff as plot decorations
Give me RPers spamming brackets during conversations
Give me a window full of quests that expand in a heartbeat
Just don't give me a ..... clothesline (with a sheet)

I want my fantasy game back again. you know.. the one with some escapism.
I've seen enough laundry for one lifetime.

I made the linen line in hopes it would add a 'lived in' sort of feel to a plot while at the same time, have it be something you'd find in the summertime. Sort of a middle ground between just having structures with nobody home and inability to add furniture.

what I`ve learned in school (I`m not trying to teach you!), is
one need to see a poem in the whole
    not neccessaryly extract single lines
    to understand.
Lots is symbolic. Or artistic auxesis. Or a parable. Or..

(Frost, I have that linen line and wash basin on my farmhouse plot in Heather.
It fits perfectly there. I love all your creationes! )

If you were talking to me Lovwyrm, I just wanted to understand the issue with "the RPers spamming brackets" part, as this thread is in Rant Istaria Style. Or have I misunderstood and it isn't a rant?

RPers will use brackets (or some other punctuation) to denote OOC (Out of Character) chat.

Not being the original poster, that's what I THINK they meant.

Yes, I personally write like (this) in RP channels or in local channel when there is RP nearby, if I want to talk OoCly. In other cases, I don't use them. Though, I have turned so much used to put brackets that sometimes, I use it when it isn't not needed, when I am unfocused

    Frosthide,
It was laundry day. I've built my bridge and gotten over it and feel much better now I've had my little rant and everything is folded and put away for another week.
Please continue your creative efforts in whatever way pleases you (not that you need my permission anyway).
    You deserve a raise.

    LungTien & Magnir,
The bracket-spam I'm referring to is where the amount of bracketed text in an RP used for OOC or to explain the RP, exceeds the actual RP content/conversation itself by a factor of 5:1.

Even more importantly, I needed to fill out an Istarian themed line ending with a word that rhymed with "decorations". Don't take it to heart.

    Talking Re: Clothesline with Sheet

Well, Demmona (my alt) put up an empty clothesline, a full basket, and there she is lying in her hammock, not gotten around to hanging them up, but her cargo gear is washed. I like it.

I see what you mean now Vortura. I have seen, several times, RPers in RP channels, whether they are RPing themselves in the said channel or not, post a lot of OoC, related or unrelated to RP, while others are trying to RP. I understand what you feel.
