Angry DEVS! What is going on!!

    * Puts on a very cranky face *

1 minute, you guys bring the Islands back. New Brommel and the others. The next minute, New Brommel has no Npc's and no Spiders and Zombies. A lot of people on the servers where happy that the Islands came back, but now as I've seen, there are a lot of people not so happy with what's happened to New Brommel. I am 1 of them and my mate is as well.

As well, the ROP for Helian and Lunus is broken, there is a bug on the Npc's that give you the starting of the ROP's, and hatchies that want to do there ROP can not, due to the bug.

Not to mention, that Pratt at NT, has stopped walking and talking. Which I am un-happy that he has stopped doing what he use to.

So Devs, what is going on?. (And please don't come up with a stupid excuse!.)
This is for you guys, and yes others may wish to comment.
    Rawr!???

    From the latest content notes:

    • Content from the Fall Festival has been removed for another year.
    • A Hatchling must now be at least 30 days (real time) old before starting their Rite of Passage quest.

So that explains New Brommel and possibly the bug with the ROP NPCs if the hatchlings are under 30 days. If they are over 30 days old then I don't know what's going on there.

From what I gather, Pratt stopped wandering around quite a while ago, maybe he was wearing out his boot leather too quickly

Kelsaka answered for New Brommel. The Rite was given a 30 day requirement. If you are having other difficulties please submit a ticket and we can try to figure it out.

Not to mention, that Pratt at NT, has stopped walking and talking. Which I am un-happy that he has stopped doing what he use to.
It was removed because we got so many complaints.

Amon didn't know yet... there is presently a bug with Karane and persistent dialog. Because Karane doesn't have persistent dialog for a hatchling dragon, the quests are not being offered properly.

Anyone wishing to do their RoP quest will need to submit a ticket and have the quest started manually, but from that point on it will continue as normal.

I always wonder, when I read this: Does that mean the fall festival took place on New Brommel? I was not in game the last fall.

His spam was frequently interrupting RP on Order and, I guess, interrupting normal conversation on Chaos. There was enough text spewed from him and Geoff (or was it Milicent?) to bump player-written messages out of sight, and although one can simply scroll up, this still created a significant risk of one or more messages getting missed entirely.

Conversation between NPCs can add flavor to a world, but it's not worth it if it's disrupting what it ought to be encouraging.

No freedom of speech for poor Pratt. I still think it was a wrong decision. The guy lives in NT, it's not like he like all of us could go elsewhere.

    I agree Sigi!

Those features are too few anyway,
and Pratt always was a highlight for me!

Yeah.. and that dragon schools could very well sit down by the dragon trainer caves or on the hill with the portal or somewhere... not necessary to have all that scaled ones clinch up around the shrine among the bipeds. Would make much more sense RP-wise anyway.

I think they gather there so the town does not look quite so empty, so that general passersby could see and participate in roleplay. Pratt, at the time intervals he spoke, was rather disruptive to that.

I think his timer could have been lengthened and perhaps the conversation with other npc's shorter. I do like the extra activity of a mobile npc.

You could also have simply blocked Pratt & Millicent. We could not block Geoff though... add that ability and I'm pretty sure they could walk and talk without complaint because it would be silence for those with them on block, but others who liked it could listen.
(I found it amusing when people would yell 'PRATT!!' when they found him walking)

But also, Alphiner, just so you know - when the fall festival comes back next year, the mobs will only be T1 according to new patch notes because of unexpected PL'ing. ;P

Those who complain about Pratt loiter in NT too long.

So your first post here is to moan about people sitting in NT? I dont get the sudden hate about this - ingame (Chaos) people are getting flamed and insulted for sitting in NT, now complained about here too...............WHY? Why is it so wrong to sit in one place regularily, when people have friends there, and enjoy the chat and socialisation? Apparently though, its wrong to be social here, I guess.

I am also trying to figure out the new spate of public bitching, nastiness and general flame wars that go on daily on Chaos - hardly a nice environment for established players, and certainly not a good way to promote the game to new players either. Everyone is, of course, entitled to their own opinions, but why be so damned nasty if you personally dont agree with them?

I swear, its making it harder and harder for me to log in every day, knowing that at some point someone is going to get beaten down in front of everyone

    So.. umm..

People that were "RPing" in NT (which does not, in any way include any physical interaction of characters..) was being interrupted by a game mechanic that was actually a novelty to new and old players alike.

RPing can be done ANYWHERE and also doesn't have to be in the same place as other players (it's ALL CHAT).. like.. someplace where they aren't blocking building entrances, shrines, NPCs and what-not for newbies trying to figure out the game.

So they stopped him from doing all that.

    Yeah, that makes sense.

Not knocking the RPers for doing what they do. But maybe they can do it elsewhere so the mechanics of the game didn't need to be changed? That seems pretty strange.

TBH, one time I was doing the quest that asked me to buy something from Pratt to give to the PB, a chocolate something rather... I found it annoying that I had to keep chasing him around.

Also, I found that the /say spam kept filling up my battle log (I keep 2 windows open; the one on the left is used for whispers/guild/group and the one on the right is used for combat/say/etc). I'd get a quest from an NPC and it'd tell me in that bottom log, or if I crafted or completed a quest. But every time I went to NT, that right window would get filled up by the NPCs' /say spam.

That and less traffic/processing power on the server's part never hurt. Sure, that little event with Pratt didn't use much, but it still used some that wasn't really important.

I do, however, totally agree with you: I don't really understand the need to be "physically there" for RP -- I'd rather go craft while RPing in a chat channel or whisper window; that way I'm getting SOMETHING done while waiting for responses. I can't stand sitting around in a full-screen (or even windowed!) game doing Nothing for hours while waiting 5+ min between each RP post. I'd get bored to tears, really.

I'm sure they have a reason, and I'm not saying they shouldn't do what they do. I just think it would be prudent to move it somewhere else. Pretty much anywhere else... What's wrong with Dralk or Chiconis (very open areas) or if they want to be around the newbies, there is Kion. Heck, even grand halls. They can use mine in Bristugo if they want a place to just sit and RP.

so those complaining pratt was nice are saying they rather have a NPC chase every one away instead of having actual players hang out in the town and greet poeple?

Right cause a npc is sooooooo much better than real players

If an NPC can chase people away, maybe MMOs isn't their thing.

But a group of people sitting around chatting like there's nothing else to do in the game. Yes, that would probably be very off-putting to me as a new player.

It's actually a little off-putting to me as a veteran player. But pure RP isn't my thing... as is the case with a lot of people.

If they really want to greet people, there is always spirit island. I'm sure the questions they could answer there would be most helpful.... if that's the point of being in NT.
