    Default NBC. really?

    NBC - NoBody Cares

has anyone been paying attention to NBC's coverage lately? the inane banter of the two idiots during the opening ceremony, and to top it off, it was TAPE DELAYED. they tweeted about the ceremony before IT WAS EVEN BROADCAST. they set up a livestream to show the events live, but you have to sign in with a Cable provider just to see it? what the **** NBC. people are going to Pirated streams to watch it... why the hell can't NBC show them ON LIVE TV AS IT SHOULD BE? is the almighty dollar that worship worthy, where they cannot even show the olympic games in live tv? it the olympics, where the entire world gets together, but NBC has ideas just to make money off of it, to cut content, and not even show them live, and even require a cable provider just to see them? what the hell NBC? and another thing... the comment from one of the commentators during the opening ceremony about our Health care? really? injecting Politics during the games?

    is NBC that screwed up?

    EDIT:

APPARENTLY NBC also cut a segment that was honoring the victims of a terrorist attack in london... instead to show an interview with Ryan Seacrest and micheal phelps. NBC, putting politics and money ahead of everything else.

Its not just NBC mate. Our news and papers on this side of the pond are just as bad! This has been going on well before the start of the olympics. (oh...excuse me, 'those games being held in london' Don't want a solictor at my door with a cease and desist letter tomorrow now do we?) The focus has been on politics, who owns what, who gets what, etc. Not on neutrality and upon the atheletes as should be. And if it is, most of it mentions conspiracies over their performance.

Even when the torch passed by our local town here, it was nothing more than the epic height of rampant consumerism and commercialism. The 'parade' was a joke of ostentatious busses and trucks plastered over with the sponsors' logos, while the bus containing the olympic lantern and runners was this tiny simple thing. There were so many vendors wandering through the crowd hawking their 2 pound flags, toys, and hats that I thought I'd mistakenly taken the family to a circus! Also, not that I mind national pride a single drop, and I know we're hosting them here, but there is a time and a place. 95% of what was being sold was all British flag print stuff. I thought the olympics was about no country in particular? The run up to it felt more like the run up to the World Cup or the Euro Cup than it did a set of games that should be known for being open, fair, non-political and neutral, not attached to anything but the games itself.

Then there are the issues I find with the stupid looking impressionist mascots, the witch hunting of anything and anyone with the name 'olympic' in it or with anything remotely looking like five rings. Stuff that has been that way or been there for absolutely years and years and years. Since the last time the UK hosted the olympic games, if not before.

Total turn off. I just can't get into the spirit of these games. They call them the Olympic games, but whatever it is, it isn't that. I don't think I've ever seen such a politically charged and corporate run set of games as this. It feels more like an inquistion.

yeah i aint watching the olympics... since i .. well, you know, CAN'T.

i refuse to watch crap NBC edits of Olympic footage showing only USA teams when there are plenty of other matches going on. the commentator's inane banter is reason enough alone for me to turn the channel.

thanks NBC, for ruining it completely FOR AN ENTIRE NATION.

i'm so pissed at NBC for this. when did we turn into Iran or China?

    its the power of money,
    the power of multinational companies.

As usual, US is a bit ahead of Europe-
    but do not worry..
We shall be there soon too.
