    Default Talk to the Team: The Rift and Loot

    Wanted to fish for ideas from the player-base regarding types of loot you might like to see from monsters in the Rift. Its a great adventure area and we'd like the monsters there to have loot that isn't obtained from ones outside (similar to how loot in Dralnok's Doom is different).

    Most of the loot in DD is lore-related (dwarven journals, dragon journals, etc). What ideas do you all have for The Rift?

    Might be sort of nice to have a dragon artifact set to craft, sort of like the dwarven artifact one found in doom.

    I don't know maybe the artifact set could have things to do with the sleeper and ancient dragon society from way back with the lore centering around that? I'm certain, but I could be wrong since my memory isn't the greatest, that somewhere along the way there was some lore stating that dragons gathered in large numbers around the sleeper at one point.

    I suppose something like a rare or ancient hoard set to craft since, I can kind of imagine dragons having left bits of hoard at the sleeper sort of like a donation or tithe to the sleeper itself?

    I'd love to have a reason to use blighted equipment :) In terms of loot I think we have more than enough tech's , jewelry, armor, and weapon pieces but there are weapons which there are no special types. Such as we have 7 demon weapons each being a certain weapon, but I haven't seen say a shillelagh, wooden club, or even a 1 handed sword yet. Those would be nice I think:)

    This is already on its way, but not as Rift loot.

    The problem is Terao, is that the Rift is and has always only been a dragon only place in game. There is no way according to the lore that they should change that.

    But hey, I'm not adverse to a biped only place being added someday!

    I think it would be awesome if you had some more emblem quests, like Rift Seeker, Rift Guide. The Sleeper's Apprentice. or like Rift Kwellen Slayer (just like the myloc quests to kill x of them for an emblem)
    for doing a few quests from the sleeper discovering more about her / lore stuff. Or by traveling to various locations in the rift and having a quest update.
    As for loot, I think it would be neat if they had a chance to drop expert tiered formulas for dragons. Or maybe they could drop techs for new dye colors.
    I know a lot of that is repeat from the doom but I love the rift, I would love to see it used more.

    My first thought is a unique tech drop reflecting what was killed. For example, killing the heart golem (it is different parts like that, isn't it?) might drop a tail spike that allows you to drain life over time from an enemy you hit with tail whip. Perhaps a different tail spike from each golem?

    Alternatively, perhaps crystals with multiple facets - similar to what crystalshapers will be able to make, but with multiple effects on them. For example, use the heart one and gain both extra life and extra armor for the duration.

    Perhaps more useful would be dragon abilities which could be hotkeyed, much as mastered or racial abilities for bipeds can be hotkeyed. I do not know what abilities dragons lack that bipeds may have, but it seems like a 30 second alacrity boost like gnomes get would be a really cool ability for high level dragons helping in the rift to have a chance to win. Alternatively, group buff abilities like protection from nature might be neat.

    brocken t6 scales and claws sounds greate! hope if not in Rift, devs realise it soon.

    maiby add some mini-bosses (posible for solo, in difference to might trio) with unique loot, who need to awaik use some item. that item combined collection from parts, that drops common rift-mobs

    The more I think on it, the more I like the idea of dragons having to collect a drop from each of the golems, sort of like collecting pieces of valkor's sword, only each piece is assigned to a specific golem. This might encourage ancient dragons to assist the up-and-coming more readily, and fits with the broken T6 claw/scale concept already proposed.

    I still think that rather than worn, it should be an activatible item; like Galderos' Heart but instead of converting damage to heart, perhaps it gives -5% delay (+5% alacrity) or +10 fly speed for a duration. I wish I knew the lore of the Rift to be able to suggest how it fit.

    It'd be nice if you stuck some loot on the bosses required for ARoP to give Ancient dragons more cause to help Adults trying to finish ARoP.

    The loot should be meaningful, but nothing overpowered (since they are quest bosses and not slow-respawning epic mobs).

    Well how about a specialised set of rare loot (hoardables) that actually relates the histories of the dragons... i mean more specifically the stuff taught during the ARoP.. thats just my idea.. I love the lore to Horizons i just have a nightmare of a time trying to remember it all.

    I was thinking, as it is a dragon only area...what about a dragon wing modification. This could be tatters and or war scars from many years of battle.

    The quest could have some age requirement that would not allow a newly completed AROP dragon to do these quests concurrent with their rites. Possibly be an ancient for X amount of time before the quests are available.

    We could make this a contest for all those modders out there that want to design the ancient wing set.

    Quest completion gets you a token to take to one of the ancients in Dralk for turn in for your ancient wing set.

    Ideas? Changes? Bad idea?

    I would like to see a Cristal form for the new school (Master form ) this crystal will be socket-able in weapon socket

    something like the following

    Cristal of the void Lunus - 5 % chance to stun a target with 50-100 dot

    +100 str
    +100 dex
    +50 t and c

    Armor of the ancients 3 % chance to cast Primal vengeance

    Cristal of the void Healian

    /5 % Chance to cast freeze and bind the target in place

    +100 to power
    +100 to str
    +50 to Primal

    Armor of the ancients 3 % chance to cast Primal stun
    Face forward and you should be able to hear it now the only thing plugging your ears is your own fear. There is only one enemy and one of you so what is there to be afraid of ? Abandon your fear turn and face him, Don't give an inch. Now advance Never stop If you retreat you will age Be afraid and you'll die NOW SHOUT OUT YOUR NAME !!!

    woops Yep your right

    also for another idea have scales from Drulkar him self drop in the rift Should either be broken bits Head - tail (this would be our t 6 ) or full scales on the special rare drop table

    to get the supreme effects you must have the full set to activate the buffs

    again Lunus and Heilan each have there own set and own buffs

    How about some sort of mercantile spirit from whom we could purchase things with the various "junk drops" like symbols of the rift, etc.? I'd be all over it, even if the purchasable items are just things like dragon masks, costumes and the candy to fuel them, etc. :)

    oh please, stop separate combat system for Helians and Lunus!
    it's already totaly brocken, and most of Helians jast weeker Lunus in combat.

    jast left RP as RP, and allow everyone chouse his own combat style, that work in current system

    theres nothing saying lunus can't get helian crystals or vica versa... its just the names given to the crystals
