Talking You're invited to an all-shard Autumn Festival!!!

All of Istaria is invited to Blight Shard on the weekend after Turkey Day (24 – 25 November) for a post-Sandy on-line party hosted by the CotT Guild and other Blighters! [See timetable below for dates/times.]

We've been busy planning an “everyone's invited” party with the best that Istaria has to offer in the way of food, fun, drink, fireworks (from 'small' to 'astounding') and prizes.

We’ve stocked the “Haunted House” at Old Oaks with a selection of seasonal treats, drink (dwarven ale and famous Knut’s fire whiskey), lots of snowballs (for that touch of PvP), "Draconian Celebration Cake" (for you dragons, saris and ssliks) and lots more. Play your Blight toon or copy down an existing one from Order or Chaos or make a new toon on Blight. In addition to the snowball fights, there will be races, quests, riddles and maybe even a khutit conga line!

Wear your bi-ped skelly costume, mask, dragon mask or Summer Party Shirt from the 2012 Pax Istaria summer event and join in the fun or just show up in that scruffy old cargo armour you haven't taken off in months! Don’t worry if you don’t have “anything to wear” – you just might win something.

The party will be held at Old Oaks and a group hunt to the Harro Deadlands and the EDs will be held after - who knows, a Blight Anchor might even drop in!

If you are not attuned to the Imperial Outpost across the road just port to Mithril's Anvil and run south on the road. If you need help porting, just message Nia in the Old Blight chat channel and we will find an escort for you. During the party we'll all join up in the Autumn Festival chat channel.

Here are the times for our Autumn Festival:

Last I saw, characters are copied by the lads & lasses of Virtrium on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so plan ahead. Especially due the Turkey Day holiday!

Sounds fun. I have a copy there already, an older one but she's equipped for battle. Now I just have to remember to be there.

OK, we've decided to go for it... why stop with a khutit conga line??? What about the longest *ghoulish* conga line: the biggest number of gifted zombies, ghosts, mummies and skellys ever assembled in Istaria?

That's right, we are endeavouring to have enough costumes for *everyone* and enough candy to power it for the party and for the hunt afterwards - imagine the shock on the faces of the Withered Aegis mobs when we rock the undead look ourselves?

In addition to giving away costumes, masks, candy, food, snowballs and fireworks***, we’re going to toss in some forms, gold, hoard and *wait for it*... at least one one-month property holder sub!**

It’s been a couple of years now since Virtrium gathered toons together for a group portrait – let’s see how many toons we can get in costume and have another photo session, it will make for some awesome screenshots.

See most everyone on Saturday your time (Sunday for me and a couple of others). We’ll be setting up an Autumn Festival chat channel and I’ll also be monitoring the Old Blight chat channel for those that need help. Since we can’t preload pouches with the various goodies and stuff to pass out it gets a bit chaotic to pass out everything to everyone so if you get missed just let me know and I might need a couple of volunteers to help distribute.

[***For those who have never had the chance to play with Istarian fireworks they really are fireworks, not just noise so you have to remember to look up to see them - you won’t be disappointed.]

    [**Apologies to Hoberton - I couldn't resist.]

Thanks for that, Hoberton - I was never able to work out your sig file pic... but always admired your avatar!!

We press on with the countdown to the party: sub, gold, hoard, costumes, food, fireworks, snowballs and other swag all in order - looking forward to a bit of a frenetic but fun night!

Come and grab a ghoulish costume so we can have a great screenshot of all toons in costume - there will be costumes for everyone (and then descend on the WA at the end of the night, giving them a taste of their own spooky medicine). Read the earlier posts for more info.

I have to say, Blight throws a rockin' party. :-)

More costumes, candy and food than we'd consume in a week of parties, snowballs and fireworks a plenty. :-)

Puzzles and riddles that had us running around multiple plots and off near to blight pools - even I got one of them correct! :-) Apparently I really cannot count, but I blame the special zombie costume.

Flying dragon races - I got a special ridge-top seat to watch them zoom by.

Rounding out the day was an invasion of maggots, followed by giant chickens to peck the plot clean, and Son of Gigaroth directing the forces incoming through an anchor near the Imperial Outpost. I ran into costume problems (any excuse for why I died, right?) and bowed out while the battle was in full swing.

All in all, lots of fun and variety. Thanks so much for hosting it! :-)

Was a fun party. Was not able to be around for the festivities when SoG came for a visit.

If not too close together, you might want to plan another party for the end of the Mayan calendar next month so we can all celebrate the end of the world. That would be a good one for major monster invasion and mayhem.

    Mayhem? I *love* the idea!

I have *tons* of stuff left over from the party and riddles and quests that we did not get to... and we were so fortunate that the WM Sooty came and enriched our plot and party with huge red maggots, giant chickens, a Blight Anchor and its spawn and of course our dear friend, SoG [who, until he got the idea to kill us all (repeatedly)] ran about like a maniac... (I still have 6 dps left.)

I'd like to donate everything to Lovwyrm for her to use at her Christmas Party but of course there is no way to get stuff from Blight to Order. So........

I am happy to host another party on Blight!

It would be really good if we could come to some agreement as to when (kinda hard to find a time that works for players that hail from three-quarters aways around the globe) and I would like to ask that a couple of toons help me with the organising (I was very, very lucky that Chaos Cave didn't have to work that evening and was able to help). It's a bit difficult to let everyone at the party and arriving at different times to know what is going on and how to get their share of food, fireworks, snowballs, etc., etc. If I could get a bit of help with that we could have parties on Blight a lot more often.

OK, I'm putting it out there: let's have another party, is anyone willing to help?
