    Default Dire Wolves

Don't know if it's intended or it's a bug, but the drop rate for Dire Wolf Skulls, counting as lvl 81-85 trophies, seems really low. I'd estimate it somewhere between 1:7 to 1:9
    Can you please check it?

Also maybe it is worth to note that for this range, there are only 5 type of trophies accepted (Blood Skulk Pendants, Golem Hearts of Marble, Shrunken Purple Weaver Thoraxes, Feral Bloodsnout Youngling Tusks and Dire Wolf Skulls) and the drop rate for all of them seems either too low and/or the mobs are available in very low numbers making trophy gathering for this particular level range (81-85) extremely, and i really mean extremely hard.

The drop rate for Dire Wolf Skulls is 20% (1 of 5). Correct, there are only 5 mobs that drop trophies between 81 and 85. The spawn rates though seem decent enough. There are TONS of Dire Wolf spawns in the Selen Forest. Lots of Marble between the Marble Quarry and Saritova. The rest, I can see how it might be tough ranging across the swamp.

Not willing to go into arguments since it is not the right thread, but:

    1. Indeed the Dire Wolves have the most numbers, followed at quite a distance by Marble Golems. The rest are not really worth mentioning and are out of the race when it comes to trophy hunting.

    2. that 20% you speak of is taking into consideration the following facts?
    a) about 20-25% of the wolves are not dropping anything
    and
    b) the loot table for the wolves includes 3 oddities, a component, a hide, a trophy and a "no drop" and they most of the time (like 80-90%) drop a single item - be it an oddity or a component or a trophy.

All those are summing up to a what it feels like a really low drop rate. Maybe not 1:9 but certainly lower than 1:5 (20%). Around 15% i'd say

Sorry for this post, i realize it does not belong in this thread, but i wanted to make some clarifications.

Edit: even if 20% drop rate is the real thing (which is not according to the numbers i'm getting while hunting dire wolves), trophy leveling in the range 81-85 requires 330 trophies. That means slaying 1650 wolves. Quite a number, right? It certainly feels out of order.

Yes, all of that taken into account. Its a straight 20% for the trophy treasure table for Dire Wolves. So, 20% straight off the top. And there is only one trophy so if it calls that table its 100% of that. There is a chance for nothing, yes, but it does not impact the 20% I mentioned. Bottom line, you've had a bad run of luck with looting.

    yep; just bad luck.

dire wolves have been one of my favourite to hunt in that level range since its the most likely to drop considering its a huuuuge spawn. where as theres like...8 marble golems in the quarry? as marble golems are the only other option that aren't a pain in the backside and don't require you to suicide in a skulk camp or need a healer to stop the suiciding.

    Thanks for answering.

Now, is there any chance to make the trophy hunting more rewarding for this range (81-86)?

Maybe by adding more trophy types accepted?
Maybe by increasing the spawn rate of the rest of the mobs involved? Except for Dire Wolves which are in good numbers out there.
Maybe by increasing the trophy drop rate?
Or any other mean you see fit, Amon?

More trophy types isn't possible as there aren't any monsters that are trophy-dropping types at that level range. Increasing the drop rate is also out as it is balanced now. Increasing the spawn is possible, I'll make a note to look at the other types.

Do not Hunter Scorpions fall into this level range - they do drop items called trophies (Claws & Venom Glands). Oops Hoard value is not measure of level..sorry

hunter scorps would be in the level range of 76-80 if they could be turned in anywhere.

Believe that level range be Scavenger Scorpions.

    Desert Scorpions are level 51-55
    Scavenger Scorpions are levels 70-79
    Hunter Scorpions are level 94-103
    Stygian Scorpions are level 115-117
    Colossal Scorpions are level 130-132

So, no trophies that could be turned in at level 81.

Dire Wolves - Selen Forest primarily but also some spawns along the Abandoned Shore and in the Yew Forest.

Feral Bloodsnout Younglings - Misted Forest and Yew Forest. You'll probably have to kill regular ones as well.

Skulks and Weavers - Spiritous Swamp. And the spawns here are a mess and badly mixed with the level ranges.

Marble Golems - Marble Quarry and Saritova

Thank you for looking into it.

Dire wolves, as I said, seems to have ok numbers.

Marble Golems, in the marble quarry their numbers is too low for trophy hunting, but still high enough to annoy the hell out of crafters getting marble. Maybe you could sensibly increase the spawns on Saritova which counts only 3-4 golems of each type (marble, mithril, peridot, emerald) spread along several spawns.

Skulks and Weavers - a total mess there as you nicely put it. No idea what could be done here.

Feral Bloodsnout Younglings - again too few spawns. Maybe you can find a patch in the yew or misted forest to setup a nursery?

Actually, for that range I hunt the skulks.

if you will go to the front gate of their encampment, you will see 2 groups of 4 spearfishers.

These drop the pendants quite well and you can easily farm them by staying close to the pond that's there and pulling from range.

Sorry in advance if I am "revealing" some deep dark secret here but, you can quickly get tons of trophies here.

    I tend to avoid skulks.
I enjoy hunting them, but not in the range of thousands - assuming their drop rate is the same as dire wolves 1:5

Drop rate on their skulls still seem hosed or I am extremely unlucky with these mobs.
