Hair changes when Wizard hat is put on

I just noticed a few days ago, that when I place the Wizard hat on my head my hair changes from short hair to long hair. I'm not sure how or why this would happen, is this a known glitch?

Also I noticed that when removed and it is in my inventory that it shows as 2 items like it's stacked or something, but I only own 1.
