Weird 'shimmer' or 'glisten' type effect with platemail, but only some pieces?

I don't have a strong opinion for or against the effect, it just needs to be uniform across all the pieces of the set!

At present, the legs/mask/chest/arms/bracers have a super shiny silver-ish sheen over them that hides the dye almost totally, but the boots/gloves/couple other pieces don't. Makes it hard to get a good and cohesive dyed look going on with the effect being mismatched on pieces of the same armor sets.

With exception to Skilts, the platemail seems to be correct with the shiny on all pieces. I'm not seeing how the boots or gloves should look different. I'm at least looking at Mithril. Perhaps another metal I can look at?

Can you provide a screenshot or let me know exactly which set of platemail (Bronze, Iron, etc) and which dye color you're using. Maybe I'll be able to see what you see.

Also, what race.
