    Default Blight NPC Blocling

I don't like to listen to the Corporal, Lieutenant or Private. On other servers I have always been able to add them to my ignore list. but now Blight isn't allowing this. Here are the logs files when I typed /ignore XXX. You can see I added them, then it says can not find player XXX and their name is never added to ignore list.

[08/15/17 19:31:07] Corporal says, 'All is well within the city itself.'

[08/15/17 19:31:28] Corporal has been added to your ignore list.

[08/15/17 19:31:28] Could not find player Corporal.

[08/15/17 19:31:57] Lieutenant has been added to your ignore list.

[08/15/17 19:31:58] Could not find player Lieutenant.

[08/15/17 19:33:22] Lieutenant has been added to your ignore list.

[08/15/17 19:33:22] Could not find player Lieutenant.

[08/15/17 19:33:38] Corporal has been added to your ignore list.

[08/15/17 19:33:38] Could not find player Corporal.

[08/15/17 19:35:28] Corporal says, 'All is well within the city itself.'

My experience on Blight matches that of Malicore, I cannot place the "loudmouth" military npc's on Ignore. As a further clue, however, those NPC's can be targeted with /select and thus it seems the problem is specifically with the Ignore not finding the NPC's.

Would being able to ignore an NPC mean that it couldn't give quests in the future to someone who has ignored it?

try it and see. you have the ability to block npc's on chaos and order. it's just broken atm on blight. it should only be used to block the npc's that spam, which is what I use it for. like the ones outside augh, yelling "all is ok by by the portals" or any other npc that runs around spamming main chat

An Ignored NPC with available quest will be invisible but a hint is available in the form of a floating question mark. Seems to me that would be a good reminder... (Tested on live shard where NPC's can still be placed on Ignore.)

Actually today I did some quests, and a lot of NPC's do not show ? overhead all the time for quests when available. This poses a problem for new players. But as mentioned we have ability to block NPC because some of us dont want to keep checking main for player shouts, and finding npc spam with main tab flashing. Also it was introduced due to RP'ers cause they hung out in area's where NPC's spam (Like NT) and they didn't want to move to a quieter area.

You don't usually find a need to block all NPC's as most with quests do not spam main chat. You only block ones that become a nuisance.
