Black Screen Forcing Reboot

I just reinstalled Horizons to give it a whirl. I get to the character creation screen and after about a minute or 2...my screen goes black. The computer does nothing, forcing me to have to reboot. Any thoughts?

I have all the latest drivers. DirectX 9.0c

AMD Athlon XP
ATI Radeon 9000 pro 128 mb
700+ MB of ram


I used ot run this game ok. No troubles. Now this is occuring. Any input is welcome. Thanks.

As the Radeon Catalyst drivers have had a bit of trouble in certain places (ie: Floating City) for some machines (configurations) I would suggest checking your video card driver version and either updating (if there is a newer one) or falling back to an older version of the driver. There is a possibility that if you upgraded your video driver over the time you were gone it could be the source of your troubles.
