Firewall Issue

I'm wondering why I cannot connect to Horizon's server when my firewall is running, even though I have the access permisions for Horizons set at allow for both Inbound and Outbound. I really don't like disbaling my firewall just so I can play, so does anyone have some advice that might help me withthis issue. Thanks, by the way, I do not use a router and I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2(firewall disabled)with Adelphia's internet Freedom Firewall running. Thanks again!

I don't know a thing about your software firewall, but the only thing I can suggest is to:
Enable whatever logging your software firewall has (if not already enabled)
Clear the logs
Try to start Horizons and wait for it to fail
Have a good look at the logs to see what your software is blocking/denying
Adjust the firewall rules accordingly
Try again
