The initialization stops, as HZ cannot find "no_update.auc" then. So same situation, can't login. :(

Hag.. the wise people, such as tramsan figured out it had to be in the version folder.. try that.. should help

Just to make this a little easier for un-nerdy people with XP like me :D

First, click start->run
Type regedit and hit enter
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArtifactEntertainment\ Horizons\version

Right click on version, choose New->String Value
Type NoPatch in String Value
Right click on the new string and choose Modify and set value data to 1
Click Ok

Then you can close the window

However REMEMBER to remove it when there is a patch or you will not recieve any updates!

Im trying my old batch file, copied the biotech number and edited the ip number at it so lest see if it works. Hmm. I got in but I have flagged no net at it so Im running Hz in a local version... *mutters and reedit the clientprefs.def*

I made the registry edit that was sugested earlier in this tread and it works great

You just need to make sure that when GN solves this problem next week you set it back to 0

I finally got my old batch file to work, wich means I dont need the weblogin any longer except for patching. I spelled Unity --> unity, with a small u, wich dont work at clientprefs.def it seems.

But I will write an easier step by step instruction here in case the first instruction is to short. Better to have 2 anyway.

1. Hit Start Button
2. Puch the RUN link
3. Write Regedit and run or hit enter
4. Puch the [+] in front of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
5. [+] SOFTWARE
6. [+] ArtifactEntertainment
7. [+] Horizons
8. Right click version
9. choose New->Binary Value
10. Type NoPatch in Binary Value
11. Right click on the newbinary and choose Modify and set value data to 1
12. Click Ok

I just noticed that setting the value to 0 dont start the patcher so when we want to patch, we must remove the NoPatch string or try to making it a binary value.
