    There was listed a "mana knight" and also "champion" back then and also IIRC there was a class called "experimentor" implented on Blight but it never made it out and the guy who programed it was fired or move to another thing I think

    The experimentor was not a class mean for live play.

    While blight server experimentor would retain the experience and levels they had gained, the abilities, skills, statistics - you name it - were liable to change at any moment when AE felt they needed to beta-test changes to some character class. They were testing alterations to some Disciple type (namely, addition of mana) when staff shrinkage shut that down.

    The last EXP class was actually the prototype for the new Fire Disciple in an effort to make all the Monks and Disciples more playable. It was a big blow to hear that the person working on itwas laid off with a lot of other folks, and that it would not be implemented afterall.

    too bad ,... was a big waste of time if you really look at it.. those people could have been working on game issues that are needing to be fixed still...

    Probably not a class, but prospecting was planned at one point, perhaps just as an ability.

    Experimentor was a good idea for testing. The first study was indeed the use of mana, to limit healers' capabilities. It was felt that this would allow the development of really tough monsters. The player base was not enthusiastic [:(] about mana and the idea of such a fundamental change in the game system, and it was abandoned. The experimentor idea as such was a very clever one I thought, although it was set up so that you had to start from scratch. Suggestions that equipment and money be provided appropriate for a level 20 character (which was really needed to test) were vigorously opposed by the Blight community who saw it as unfair "competition." That meant that people who were volunteering for testing and who had otherwise busy "lives" did not participate as much as was desirable.

    I played the experimentor class on blight till level 78 (I had loads of time with the dev who came up with the new abillties) it was an amazing class with real flying kicks and bonuses called brawler bonuses and combination moves which allowed you to decide if you wanted damage or mana to pull off more moves. I loved that class and I was devestated when it was canceled. I left the game nearly 2 days after hearing about this because to me monks were the only reason to play this game. Now I am back and although I haven't started yet(still taking modular classes out of town) I am going back to see what has changed. I still hope that they will consider trying the experimentor class again as the real form for all monks/disciples.....man I miss the brawler abilities.
