I think that if scales were dyable they should show up as 'patches' of dye, like it is with biped armor.

If I were the original poster...

I'd repost in the suggestions forum...

I do happen to agree, I'd like to be ablet o dye scales. Even ignoring the visible to others aspect, I'd like to be able to easily tell the different between 2 sets of steel-granite scales.

...dragons don't wear clothes - this is very Helian of you. Some secret dream of really being a lesser, I'll wager...

The ability to dye scales would be neat even if it's not showing on your character, just to be able to recognize your crafting scales or different sort of scales!

Some blighted scales looted had Fire Opal, or Emerald dye's. It doesn't change the way you look.

Search is your friend - this has been talked about, and generally (then) rejected.

Really, do you want to see spots on your dragon where 20 bulk jewelry items have been secured to sections of scales?

Most don't, but I think it should be an option anyway - to add dye so scales can be visible. However, it seems it took TulgAE great effort just for the visible head scales for the Harvest event.

If it is possible for bipeds it should be possible for dragons although character creation allows for very strange color combinations already... [:S]
