Hmmm....interesting name for a dragon.

Were you named because when you were a new hatchling you rocked back and forth for long periods of time while you had to wait for your parents to bring back a tasty sheep to the nest?

Rockin' What?

I know that I would raise my eyeridge in amusement and think that someone's parent's had eaten a few gnomes too many when it came time to name their hatchling.

But then, I know that some have had a good laugh at mine as well :)

Good luck to you. Hope you decide on THE name that fits, and it won't matter what the rest of us think!

My first reaction was: 'Rockin' is the short form of ... what?

I think that name is nice for a hatchling, they are cute and can get away with almost anything. But I find it hard to imagine an ancient with that name -- its not as awe-inspiring as it should be, in my opinion.

When I think of dragons I think of air, storm, wind, fire, lava, sulphur, of blood, fury, danger and wisdom (hopefully). Not of rocks. Or a rocking chair.

If you are really in love with that name you should take good care that at least the look you choose is not at all ridiculous (no pink-violet-light blue combination, please).

Of course I usually give the winged-ones a wide berth...

Maybe 'Rocken' would read less like 'Rocking', if you'd want a compromise.

I'm also pretty sure rockin is taken. Also, there are a lot of cry babies out there and one whiner and they make you change it. Friend of mine had to change his for an inoffensive name.
