I'm happy to report the new patcher and launcher works well with the latest release candidate of Win 7 64 bit
Got an email from istaria announcing the fix
Is it soup yet?
virtualization....used to be called virtual machine I believe. You are suppose to be able to run programs in it like you were using XP.
Downloading Win 7 RC1 myself. Shoould be done by the time I get home from work. Program included called "virtualization" suppose to emulate XP, wonder if Istaria works in that?
So, can we get a ballpark estimate as when this will go live?
Let me start by first stating....I hate firefox!!
Everything I downloaded it messed up....everything!
Last night I downloaded Istaria with IE and it actually downloaded and installed....of...
Actually I haven't. I had some real problems with my new computer this weekend and I'm not willing to blame it on VI just yet.
Actually that reminds me, I have a bunch of beta disks as well around here somewhere. It was that first shipping fiasco for beta. The first disk I got was partially shattered and I requested a new...
I tried that over and over this past weekend, which is why I went with the old disks.
I'm not blaming anyone, it's just it downloads and installs and then errors out for missing launcher.exe and...
Not a big fan of torrent. Used it for a while and never seemed to give me anymore speed. My question was more on the lines of scrapping the old disks or not.
So, I should go in and delete the version of horizons I installed from the old disks?
Just realized I had been doing all my download and such via firefox, will try IE tonight.

Could not download istaria_launcher_manifest.txt - skipping file and will use patcher to download files later....
Have you rebooted? Because most people can install it and play. It's after shutting down your computer and then starting it up again people are having problems.
LOL......MAC ONLY! That would solve a lot of problems.
Figures the first newsletter I actually read in a long time is the april fools one
dep? Or does it matter if you run as admin all the time?
Well I am glad they finally started working on it. Last piece for new machine should be here friday. Then it's no Istaria till they get it fixed.
Well all I know is 32bit see's just over 3gig of ram where 64bit shows it all up to what the board can supoort. Didn't hear that change for Win 7 either.
ok, so which are we suppose to download to get the new installer?
Well if you can swing it I'd go Core i7. The 920 processor is around $229 and the motherboard is $189 and up but you can put together a powerful system pretty reasonably.
Vista is a known slow poke, and not just a few seconds. Even with SP1 (which cut down the load time) it is still recommended to use a turbo program loaded on a thumb drive to ease the load time wait...
Well can't speak for others but it's not a difference of 14 or 19 seconds. It's a difference from 23 seconds to 2 minutes 34 seconds. And I never had a care for load time before vista. So baffle...
possibly but doubtful.
Actually gopher I believe what he was saying is that at this point there is a large majority of biped players that are already multi-schooled. Before I left most the bipeds I ran with had at least 3...
